Hello everyone,
If I can be serious for just a moment..... yes you can be frank.
I have an old IMAC operating system 9 and the language is in Japanese and I want to change it to the english language... does anyone know how?
As far as I know I need to run the install discs but I don't have them
Before you reply, Yes I have already inserted it into my ass but it is still Japanese so any other ideas would be appreciated.

The story is (and you won't believe me) I picked it up off a friend to donate to a charity and found it was in Japanese.

I have OSX... assuming it's basically the same I could do step by step screenshots of the icons to click to get you to a langauge change...
Can't you click the icons anyway regardless of language? Click SYSTEM icon, look for a language icon (in OSX it's a UN flag) and scroll the language list... Try it.

Since no one else has answered it yet....
In OS9, when using multiple languages, you should see a flag in the menu bar at the top of your screen. The flag offers a drop menu from which you can select the language you want to use for your keyboard. When you want to toggle back to English, just select the American flag.

isnt there someone that speaks japanese in yout town? like go to a local oriental resturant or find an otaku or something then ask them nicely to change the language setings...
the long way is to use one of those websites that translates kanji and japanese written in english alphabet into english.... find the kanji for english then look round till you see it.
assuming that it is japanese and not like korean or something...
some cities have old computer restoration places where they have freaks that do notihng but store commodore 64's and betamax machines... they are usually good for information or may actually have the disks you want
if it were me, id jsut junk it and spend the 200 bucks for a tower thats over 200X the comuter that on is
...does it have speeds and drive capacity measured in MHZ?
