It's not fair.
They shouldn't be able to do it, if you ask me.
If I wanted to do it, they would tell me that solicitation wasn't allowed at work, yet they always do it. We have been told that there will not be any type of unsanctioned selling of any type in our place of business.
The store I manage is the office of the District Managers on Mondays, so every Monday I have upwards of 4 of them douches at my store. Also, at least once a month the Regional Manager comes to town, and since the DMs are there he comes and hangs out there for the day. When they are there all they do is scrutinize the way my store looks, how my employees act or dress, get mad over some little dust on a base deck, or make me receive all their calls like I am their secretary. I AM ONE STEP BELOW YOU, DAMNIT! I am not your secretary, get a freaking dedicated line to your office so people can call you direct!
Each of these DMs have children, and it seems like every time one DM finishes selling candy/cookies/frozen pizza/cookie dough/whatever crap is for sale for whatever function, another has a child just starting one of these sales. It wouldn't be that bad, but it is a never ending thing.
I technically got pushed into buying some Girl Scout Cookies today. My actual DM asked If I liked Girl Scout Cookies, and did it in front of the other 3 DMs. I had to pull the old "Only if they are chocked-full of real Girl Scouts, not the imitation ones", to which I got a chuckle from one DM(the only cool one), and annoyed glares from the rest.
My DM stared at me and said, yet again," I know you would like to buy some Girl Scout Cookies... EVERYONE likes Girl Scout Cookies... You know who likes cookies? Bob(RM). He will be in town later. I bet he would LOVE to buy some girl scout cookies. He would like to see the store, and we could talk about cookies..."
So I relented and bought 2 boxes. I am going have my neighbor's kids hit them up, though, or have them get their cars...
