The Night Had Been Slow and Warm...
...and the morning a sweating cavalcade of this skin-twisting animation of happy lovemaking.
The dripping dark hair falling on my face swallowed the room around me
Deep down in the smell of US together and rapturous.
But work was looming and faces needed cold water
To give the day its due.
And I was content in my life.
She went to the mirror and closed the door to prepare herself
As I lay wrapped in saffron sheets imagining the vision behind door number one, ladies and gentlemen!
And how pleased do you think I was?
I felt like a boy discovering baseball,
Like I just read Salinger for the first time... but again.
There was a spark of faith and madness then which barreled through me
When I opened that door.
We are electricity careening through each others veins.
We are a flash flood and a wildfire when we accomplish the simplest of feats.
(It's a joy to watch you snore, creepy huh?)
Her small aggressive hands
Her perfect hips like rolling waves cascading from her magical lower back.
I know her every dip, curve, and notion.
Hello, dumpling.
I'm a cheesy loathsome sappy shit,
And a bit of damaged goods too.
And all that means is that I'm better-equipped mentally and physically to deal with zombies.
Just in case.
But until that day comes, I can't think of a more astounding girl...
...to wake up next to...
(dramatic pause)
Than my darling you.
You are the best part of my every day.

I fell in love and wrote a poem once. It was the greatest goddamn poem in the world, but it was lost in the "everything I'd ever given her" fire.
