A mass shooting has erupted at an American university with local media reporting at least 18 people shot, and two feared dead.
Police said the gunman has died after opening fire in a lecture hall in Northern Illinois University, in DeKalb near Chicago.
One student said 140 people were in a geology class when the man opened fire, with many being hit by buckshot.
A student named John told the local radio station WBBM how the shooter burst into an auditorium with a shotgun. "He pointed it into the middle of the class... then he went for the teacher."

Imagine what would have happened if the kids in that class had carry permits and got shooting lessons from dad every other Saturday.
Guns don't kill people. Crazy as fuck flunking asswipe sociology students kill people.

Instead of 7 dead you'd have 10 or 12. Shooting at a target isn't like shooting at a person. And if he had been fired upon, he'd just go for closer people instead of trying to spray the whole room with buckshot.

I'm feeling a bit sensitive today, perhaps it's my period getting ready to start, but what the fuck is wrong with people? Even on my worst days I couldn't imagine killing innocent people. I would find the mother fuckers that made me feel that way and kill them, if anything. Just saying is all...

i think it's AWESOME when kids shoot schools up. i was a popular guy in high school but i never ever made fun of nerdy kids. i was just the all around nice guy that everyone loved. and i went to prom with the prom queen. BAM!
seriously though, how many times is this going to happen before people realize "maybe i should make fun of the nerdy kid who mumbles to himself..."?
personally i think it's awesome when nerds fight back. not everyone can be born fast, strong, and good-looking like me. when kids get made fun of for their poor genetics, they should fight back by any means necessary, including mass murder. and if the kid was targeting specific people and other people happened to die, a little collateral damage is sometimes necessary to really drive your point home.

I used to go to this school a few years ago. My best friends friend was one of the people who got shot. Part of his brain was blown off.
I think he's still alive, though. So far, anyways. This is why I stick to online schooling.

People are fucked... the Youth Offender Act/the American equivalent needs to go. That's part of the problem, at least with the younger ones. I read a week ago a grade 8 or 9 kid came to school and shot someone.
They're not afraid of consequences because they know it'll be off their record when they hit 18 and some fucking ambulance chaser lawyer is going to pull the bullied/bad childhood/mental illness card.
Fuck that! Shoot the sons of bitches dead on the scene if you know it's them. "It's COMING STRAIGHT FOR US" oughta do quite nicely. Stuff like that seriously boils my piss.

That shooting was actually pretty bananas, I believe I read yesterday that the class was about five minutes from ending, when "a man dressed in black" jumped out from behind a screen in the front of the class with a shotgun, and seemed to be shooting at specific students.
One of the students said that one girl got shot in the eye.
Shot in the eye, man, with a shotgun.
Fuck. That.
