My first maya. i ran out of time and its really badly edited and rendered. but thought i'd stick it up anyhoo.

When you look at the skills that went into rigging that animation, it was worth a +1. When you get down to the details, it was worth a -3.
Was there actual physics involved there? I couldn't tell because you set most of the prop colors to black when the background color was ALSO black, blocking out the majority of whatever it was you were trying to show. Re-render using a bright environment color and a dark-colored pole, and throw in a skylight or at least an omni that lends some light to the overall scene. Also, what was up with the jerky editing? Were those attempts at replays or something? You can spring $4K for Maya, but not $500 for a decent copy of Premiere?
