I was watching National Geographic the other day and they had a program about the "Moon Landing Hoax". Same things we've all heard before. Nothing new.
Van Allen belt's radiation would kill them or destroy the film.
The light wasn't right.
A rock marked as a prop.
No stars visible.
And so on, ad naseum.
My question is, why don't the naysayers just take a look? Just get a telescope of sufficient power and simply look. If the flag is on the moon, mystery solved. If we have things laying around, they really went there.
Do they not do this because it would destroy everything they hold true? Can it be that hard to commission a telescope to check it out?
What do you think?

Could it be possible that shuttle launches did indeed happen, yet nobody landed on the moon due to Van Allen belt's radiation having sufficient power to kill people. All the 'moon-footage' could have been pre-recorded inside "studio 51". The Astronauts simply chilled out for a week or so, orbiting the earth, then came back down with the approriate footage placed inbetween?
Thats my belief anyway

If they could make a telescope to see the flag, they might as well just fly back up there. We haven't been to the moon since 1969.

Wrong. Apollo 17, 1972.
Conspiracy theorists are all fat blubbering homos

Some people still actually believe the Earth is flat.

Hang on a moment. Are you trying to suggest that it isnt?

Plus, if all the moon landing-related stuff was a hoax, why would they have been failures? I figure that if the US government made a hoax they wouldn't plan for failures, they would want to look infallible.

Maybe NASA wanted everyone to think it was a failure to keep certain information top secret?

But we must have something that can see it. We have telescopes that can see Jupiter and other planets quite clearly. Surely, the moon cannot pose such a challenge.

I agree with you. You'd figure they would have done something to disprove all the conspiracy theories out there. But like I said, all we know is what they tell us. Its almost like they want us to think it was fake and to argue with those who believe it was real. Control through chaos. Like putting 2 ants in a jar and shaking it until they fight.

The only 'scope that might work would be the Hubbel. Bush wants to get rid of that. People wouldn't believe the pictures from it either.

I figure the people who don't believe in the moon landing are either rooted in the past or are just so idiotic and self-centred they don't want to believe that the things beyond Earth are reachable. Also, what about things like satellites and the international space station? That's in space, and the moon is a hop skip and a jump away from that. Plus, if all the moon landing-related stuff was a hoax, why would they have been failures? I figure that if the US government made a hoax they wouldn't plan for failures, they would want to look infallible.

They would not believe they were looking at the actual Moon but a cleverly-constructed micro-replica installed inside the telescope.

See, unlike most conspiracies, this one can be settled quickly.
I'm not talking about having somebody else look and publish the pictures. I'm saying take the most vocal opponents of the moon landing and have them actually LOOK at the moon landing site themselves. It would squash the whole thing immediately.

You pose a great question. One that will probably be shot down by people that know more about this shit, but still a good question.
