RECORDING BEGINS

Destroy, destroy, destroy. It's dry; destroy. The sky, it's dry. It's gone.

Destroy.

He awoke with a gasp, his heart tightening and his lungs screaming and his eyes flashing open; he sat upright so quickly he nearly seized off the smooth tabletop and clutched wildly around himself to prevent sliding to the floor.

Everywhere around him was noise, a heart's thumping wildly in his ears, so loud he nearly clamped his hands over his head. And there was word - a single word, being repeated over and over and over.

And everywhere around him was light, flickering, flashing, on off on off, onoffonoffonoff, until he could not bear it and he screwed his eyes shut but could still see the colours through his thin lids and it illuminated the veins of his skin with overwhelming brilliance.

There was no time for thought, for memory. It had happened so quickly that he couldn't remember anything besides, and the throbbing sound pervading his very core, so loud he could feel the pulsing of it in his ribs and stomach and heart, filled his mind with nothing but the Word.

It was screamed at him over and over and over, the Word, so many times he could not discern it but instead it had woven itself into a series of phrases and half-uttered syllables. It mutated and metamorphosed seemingly at will, into recognizable and unrecognizable thoughts and shapes and sounds that he snatched at and fought to force into a semblance of logic.

Thump. Destroy. Thump. It's gone, it's gone. Destroy. Destroy. It's gone, the sky, it's dry, destroy, destroy. Thump. Thump.

He heard it, felt it, saw it. Images flashed into his skull, quickly - flashflashflash - so that he could not catch them, only afterimages of what he thought he'd seen.

And it continued, inexorable. At first, he screamed at it, threw himself at it, raged in vain at its relentless thump-flash-thump-flash, at the impressions and half-thoughts and visions he thought he recognized for microseconds until they slipped like water through his mind.
And it continued, inexorable. He lay back, his jaw tightening against the pounding noise, his hands covering his eyes as they stared with chilled vacancy at the images.

Destroy. It's dry, it's gone, it's dry, it's gone, the sky.

It's dry, it's sky.

Destroy.

And it continued, inexorable.

Summary: Response to feedback typical. Observable unease, followed by increase in flesh indicators, suggests lifeform is unable to cognize audio/visual strains. Sustained exposure results in permanent damage to conscious and subconscious capacity. In 98.78% of cases, sustained exposure has resulted in severe psychosis.
