I've recently been mulling over the thought of just how powerful the "placebo effect" really is. How powerful IS the power of suggestion? Can someone really be "healed", and can something really be better because someone says it is?
Picture this, you take three random people. Place each one in a inclosed room with the same type of jello. The same type of drab decor, and the same type of cheap hard plastic chairs that make your ass sweat.
Two of the cubes of "jellow"* have sugar in them, and the other one has goat piss insted. Then tell them all have a new type of "sugar alternative" in the jello. This alternative is supposed to be twelve times better then sugar, and anyone who disagrees MUST be insane. Would you still be able to taste the goat piss? Im sure you would. "Spiritual healing" is just another word for MAGICK! Who dosent like magic? Even better, who dosent like magic sheep? Lets all just follow each other around. You know that one annoying friend** you have? The one that just fucking raves about everything? The spice of life person? That is my favorite person. They bring the mood up everywhere they go, bringing with them the placebo effect.
Is everything better because the person is there, or because the person is hyping up the product?
Does this effect only apply to consuming, and not to interperson reletionships?
Do you strongly believe in yourself? Oh, I bet you do. Its the internet. How many people in todays society REALLY believe in themselves? Not that many, at least not very many people I talk too. The placebo effect, in short is "mind over matter". No one minds because nothing matters. Think about it, in todays society there is a flagrant disregard to someone taking responsibility for their actions.
It wasent their fault. Always remember this, if you in trouble. Its never your fault. Some random fucking happening was at fault. Your parents did it too you. The medication, violence in the media. Circumstances, blah blah fucking blah. Your not fat! Your just fat. Make SENSE?
We've slowly let this happen. This, "its ok we can just excuse it for now." Its ok to be average, you get the same chance as everyone else! Why is that? You wouldnt send a tard' into space would you? Yes, yes you would but in the same cage as the monkey!?!?! For christ SAKES HE'S FLYING THIS HUNK OF METAL!
