I went to a pretty shitty school. Yes, it sucked.
It really did. We had just moved into my town when I was younger. 1st grade year I enrolled in a new school that was just built in the area.
This school was perfect. It was very culturally diverse and also it had new brick buildings, nice windows, and a library that was huge and was funded by the rich people in the area.
I mean this was one of those schools where all the parents were ultra involved in the PTA and all that mess.
I loved it. Then we moved.
I moved into an area where the school I should have gone to was overpopulated. It was a very nice school, PTA, nice kids that I grew up with in my neighborhood. I wasn't allowed to go there.
They made me go to a fucked up school that was about 20mins away. This school was in the shit hole of our area. This was the school where the kids wore the same clothes about 3 times a day. Parents didn't bathe there kids much. Also this was a school where a lot of my friends lived in trailer parks, or else in middle to lower class housing.
It sucked. The school was probably one of the most backwards schools I have ever attended. The funniest thing was the school was racist. I mean all the kids would cuss, swear and call everyone every racist name in the book. If you were Italian you were the wop, black you were a nigger, Asian you were a chink (My Asian friend even expressed that he wished he was white like me so he would get picked in sports) I mean this place was bad.
We had horrible playground supervisors (Duties) that were little fuckers to. If someone said something to friend of mine they would just have them stand on the wall or something of that nature. I mean this place sucked.
But our principal was black. Ironic huh? There were only about 3 blacks kids in our entire school. All white 3 black's kids, 7 Asians and a couple mixed kids. Our teachers thought it would be enlightening (or how shall I say cruel?) to watch Roots in my fifth grade class.
Hold up. Watch Roots in a fifth grade class? Are you fucking stupid? Are you brainless? You decided in you're stupid heads for black history month to show Roots an epic movie that grownups still can't sit through with out emotions of rage, pain, and disgust to a fifth grade class full of hillbilly kid parents that hate the race that is being deplored in the film?
Wow no wonder it was graded the worst school in the district.
So they put it on. I just watched my friend Darrell and Jess (the black/Korean girl) feel smaller and smaller as the movie progressed. They felt unwanted and like they didn't belong. It was insane. The kids that saw it were just dumbfounded. They even started to call Jess a Nigger Bitch which was said in the movie when she pissed them off that week.
Fights broke out during that week with Darrell and some of the hillbilly rednecks that week. I got in a fight for Darrell against this big fat ass that everyone hated named Jacoby. He was a real white trash piece of shit and Darrell and I kicked his ass.
I recall after that our fifth grade teacher got in trouble and I think almost fired for showing the movie without first speaking to all the kids' parents and signing some release form. I mean you showed Roots to a fifth grade class? Are you fucking serious? In a racist little hick school to.
Wow. Stupidity seems to amaze me.
Thank god I got out of that town. Fuck it blow me up uber.
Roots? Really, Roots?

I even went in early one day. Unlike you, who just write about it and wank over your internet hardman comments. At the end of the day, I was much better at going to school than you were blah blah blah blah...

Well that certainly sounds like a bad decision on the teacher's part.
But showing Roots would imply he WASN'T a racist, wouldn't it? Or at least trying to appear not to be.
