Seriously people, if you get a chance to go to Costa Rica?
Go.
Don't pass it up. Fucking GO.
Just a few of the photos I took during my week there.
Happy shitpost Thursday. Feel free to camp out.

heavenly just opened the longest zipline in the contiguous 48 - $30 a ride, I'm gonna see if I can talk my girly into it. If her feet are off the ground she gets squirrly, but she loves rollercoasters so it's a 50-50 chance...

yeah, i had a gigantic house with a pool in San Antonio. it's an awesome AND super cheap place to live. unfortunately, i was dumb enough to move to Chicago.
i'm looking for houses in St. Louis when i get back from this next Iraq trip. i love it there. i have lots of friend and family there and i also plan on running the stripper mafia there. the house i'm looking at now has a super badass enclosed patio in back that overlooks some woods and if i get it, i'm putting in a hottub there. it's already got a bar and gameroom, so i don't have to build a bar. just need to buy a nice pool table and one of those big electronic dart games. maybe some foosball too. then it's got a big room that i'm putting a movie theater in. i have everything i need, including the $20,000 THX 7.2 surround sound system and HD projector with Greywolf screen, except real movie theater seats. and it's got a workshop, which will be awesome to have when i decide to do hobby projects.
now all of that i've just described would cost me over a million bucks in Chicago. in places like San Antonio and St. Louis, we're talking a third of that. and there's more to do in those places and the people are a million time better. i never really understood the appeal of Chicago. yeah, there's cool buildings and bars everywhere you look. whoopidee do. we're also getting a snow blast on the first day of fucking spring and i can't drive anywhere without hitting traffic. why do people enjoy living in this shit?

That's exactly what Mrs. Shlongy told me....
"We could have our beachfront retirement home for a song".
MY concern is...who's going to keep an eye on my 300k investment for the next 10 years?
I'm sure I'll chicken out but I do like visiting there.

do it, Shlongy.. The prices are dropping fast because all the beachfront condos that were under construction are running out of buyers due to the US economic depression.
Snatch up a big house in the hills above San Jose for 250k. I saw advertisements for 5 bedroom homes over 3000 sq ft with a couple hectares of land for that much. A couple vacation cabins were for sale at 50k.
=====
Hard to get good action shots, but meh. I like landcapes and time out in the wilds as much as possible.
If I could have gotten some good photos of the hot latinas salsa dancing in the nightclub in San Jose, I'd have posted those too.

I know someone with a huge house just finished building in San Antonio. They don't want to live there anymore since they split with their spouse before construction was done.

I know you gotta have that much laying around. Just fuckin do it man.
I'm going back as soon as I can save up the vacation days again.

it's not a matter of money or vacation time for me. i've got more than enough of both (i have so much PTO that i lose it because i never take it). i'm just so busy that it's hard to get away from work. i'm going back to Iraq for a couple months in about two weeks. i'm looking for a house when i get back and i think that after i buy one, i will take a cool vacation like this because i deserve it, goddamnit!

That mountain is fucking sweet.
I live in PA, all we have is hills...not one mountain to speak of.
====================
Arenal volcano has been erupting almost continuously since it exploded in 1968. While I was there I took a hike out towards the active region and after dark we watched it fling glowing red-hot boulders the size of cars down it's side.
It was pretty awesome to see, and then to wake up in the mornings and look out the front door of the cabin to see it completely shrouded in clouds down almost to the base made it that much better.
==========
Pennsylvania has been boring me almost continuously since it was discovered in 1910 or something. While I have lived here I have taken hikes on the 30 foot high hills during the day AND night. And I saw a big ass barrel with garbage in it. The garbage was ON FIRE... someone was breaking the no burn law. No flames higher than 8 inches in the woods.
It was pretty awesome to see. I felt like an accessory to a crime just for having seen it. Then to wake up in the morning to see the entire forest shrouded in boring-ass dew and fog, accompanied by deer and bearded men in orange hats makes me depressed for living in shitty PA.
============================
============================
Hey I live in PA, dont knock it that hard we have mountains!! Nothing like that but we have some.
Does Sacrificial Saccy live in PA too? damn do I feel honored.

Well maybe not compared to THAT, but sure we have mountains. It's where people go for budget honeymoons and to get away from mom and dad at state schools or ski resorts.
I'm really tempted to say that waterfall looks not unlike Mrs Jolly Green Giant taking a pee, but that would just be disrespectful. That one is my favorite.
These are stunning, Monty.

the thing i remember about CR is that you can drive from sea level to 11,000ft and back down to sea level(Pacific Ocean) in a half a day
==================
This is true. You can go up on Irazu or Turrialba from the Pacific beaches in about 4 hours and then be on the Caribbean coast in another 4.

Most fun I've ever had in a single week combined.
Ziplines, rappelling, hiking, and whitewater rafting. Haven't got the photos from the rafting back yet.
