The man laid down with a with smile. A smile that would seem haunting to some but one that was given with great contentment.
As the dozens of pills circulate through his veins the soothing calm of death begins to make it's way through his body. Slowly permeating from his core the numb hand of eternity crawls ever so meticulously over his being. From his core it leapt to his fingertips and feet then down his limbs.
Every inch of numbness made the man more anxious for his cold ending in the universe. He lay smiling, confident, in control. It is very rare in a life to be in complete control. Many go through life appealing to chance by calling it fate and when something works well it was destiny. But these people are lost. They surrender the best parts of life worth living. Others dilute themselves into believing they have control. But when you look deep past their words you don't see control you see fear. They don't have the courage to take control they just talk about it then fill a niche with a suit and a desk and push it so far down they never have to look at it again. Those people live behind a veil, they confuse comfort with control, they find a crack and tuck themselves away in it and stop thinking about what is outside of it.
This man took control. Not based on society, or fate, or gods. Actually in defiance of all those things. He made a choice to die and this is why he was in control. Complete control of everything and it it came as he lay there dying. This is why the man is smiling. This is why he smiles while he dies and why it will scare others when they see it. They will not understand how it feels, how wonderful it can be to be in command. Even if it's the last thing you feel.
Most run from this place, this time, this moment with every ounce of their being. This is why they don't understand. This is why they will never have control.

the premise of this, the underlying message, is bullshit.
but the post itself is well written and has the potential to spawn some decent discussion.
i, of course, will not participate because the discussion won't be centered on me, and is therefore of zero interest to me.
