let's just agree to disagree. you are infamous for being very stubborn and i would probably just be wasting my time. here's what i will say- while you think i don't have a need to worry about UAVs watching me partying in my backyard, i think it will be a springboard for more oppressive laws and programs that will allow us as citizens less and less privacy in the future and i don't like that. you may not have a problem with it, but i do. i guess i'm just an insecure nutjob who is feels this way because i'm secretly committing crimes and don't want the government to find out.
-----------------------------
The UAV's will be a springboard or the patriot act? They are completely different hings.
I personally are offended by UAV's plans in small towns because they probably aren't needed, but in a place like miami they do need them for the same reasons they have helicopters. I will just be pissed if I see the local town here asking about them.
As far as the patriot act, or intellegence gathering and crime fighting organizations in the US have had a big curtain between them for a long time and something needed to be done about it. As far as the loss of rights, as soon as it becomes permanenet (it isn't) or as soon as I see an american citizen tossed in jail for soemthing he said with a warrantless wiretap I will worry.
=======================================================================
they both scare me. i'm all for law enforcement agencies being able to share information more easily. i don't have a problem with that part of the patriot act. i see the part about warrantless wiretaps as an invasion of privacy and civil liberties. when did the government we established to help us, start doing things to hurt us?
you say cities like Miami need UAVs, but do they really? is our society getting so bad that we need to see everything, everywhere?
case in point- there's cameras everywhere in Chicago. let's say you are driving in the city for the first time and you are unfamiliar with it. then a stop sign that was kind of hard to see pops out at you. you try to stop in time, but you roll over the line a little. a camera snaps your picture and sends a $300 ticket to you. now, there was no intent of wrongdoing, but that doesn't matter. in a world without cameras everywhere, a harmless mistake wouldn't cost you $300 and you wouldn't be labeled an "offender" by the state. it would be like life used to be when things were a bit more easy going.
i have no problem with cameras that are privately owned on private property, but i really have a problem with city, state, and federal governments having control of thousands of cameras that watch everything i do. even if it's just walking into a coffee shop and buying a cup of joe.

suck my cock, indo. if you don't see a problem with the government that used to be "by the people, for the people" having the power to spy on it's citizens anytime anywhere, then there's a problem with your brain. sure, it's cheaper to fly UAVs than helicopters. now once a UAV program is successful in one city, it will be deployed nationwide before we know it. then it's one step further with some other program that lets authorities spy on citizens.
like i said, i felt perfectly safe before the government started saying they needed more power to spy on us to protect us.
-------------------
They could always spy on the citizens, find me something in the Patriot act that makes you more likely to be spied upon. It mostly involved allowing criminal and CIA type agencies to work together and share more info.
As far as UAV's and cities, most major cities have helicopters now, I don't see how UAV's are a bigger invasion of privacy. they have better shit to watch than you partying in your backyard.

Back when I started this job, I had an open mind about giving jobs to the Chinese. Then I saw the problem. China's culture is largely shame-based. They don't want to ask questions for fear of looking stupid. They don't like solving problems, because that means admitting that there was a problem in the first place. They have a caste system you just don't cross, which means that Boss A won't share info with Boss B because of some unspoken difference in religion or geography. A bulk of the workers only see it as their job to follow scripts, so you don't have people taking the initiative to resolve or even recognize issues. The result is that quality goes downhill, US and CA jobs are lost, and what money there is gets funneled to an oppressive and corrupt regime that gets its jollies off cracking Tibetan skulls.

China blows. Seriously, have you ever known a chinaman who's WANTED to go back to China? They can be a fucking CEO over there, doesn't matter. They'll quit given the opportunity to move here and work in a laundromat. That's how fucking screwed up their government and culture are.
========
"What the fuck are you talking about? The chinaman is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please."
Couldn't resist haha. I love The Big Lebowski.

That movie really makes you stop and think about what the future will be like as long as the media adores the behavior of idiots like Jackass (even if it is funny) and bows to the will of Paris Hiltion who is about as useful as a used condom.

even more scary than the big ass fries and big ass tacos (now with more MOLECULES!) is that everyone has a barcode tattoo in the future and you can be tracked everywhere you go.
that moment is fast approaching. things like the patriot act were the springboard. now the police are trying to get UAVs in Miami. UAVS???? WHAT THE FUCK??? do we really need spyplanes flying over our cities? i've worked with the ones that are used in Iraq and Afghanistan so i know quite a bit about the different models. i even got a fly two new models last month, one of them being a jet that looks a bit like a tigershark. believe me, these things can see everything for miles and miles.
soon privacy will be a thing of the past. we are actually regressing back to a state that infringes upon our inherent freedoms as human beings. the very thing the United States was founded on to get away from. we need to stop letting people in power tell us we need them to spy on us in order to protect us. i felt safe enough already, thank you very much.

same complaints as alway but not horrible.
childbirth was certainly not pretty... all that stretching and uncontrollable poop and pee and blood and stretching but the most nasty thing I ever saw was some guy with a fence post sticking out of his back. we found him impaled on said fence post in the big horns. his truck was still running but looked like it'd rolled, near as we can tell it rolled and he got thrown landing in a really unhappy place.

Danke.
I'll look see it when I get home.
I'll tell you though, the most gruesome thing to witness is childbirth. The first time I saw it, I fainted.
The woman's labor was going fast, real fast. I scurried up to draw some blood and just as I was finished, she started crowning and I was trapped by the doctor, the resident, nurses, and OB techs and couldn't get out the door.
"Sorry Forensic, you're trapped here a second."
When the baby, fluids, viscous liquids shot out, I felt the tunnel vision coming on. Then everyone's voices sounded like they were under water and the room started to get dark.
Next thing I know, the nurses and the staff doctor are reviving me and laughing their asses off at me.
I never lived that down.
Bastards.
