Melancholy is that the word? I don't know if it is but I have felt jaded the last couple of weeks.
I'm leaving finally. I'm ready to move on it seems. I love my friends and they are all excited or just about over it. It's one of those "I don't want to leave, but I can't stay here" type of feelings.
I can't stand my roommates. I mean we are best friends. We are. But one of my buddies James moved out. He couldn't take it anymore. He got tired of the parties, tired of people sleeping in his bed, tired of people that didn't live at our place being over all the time.
He was right.
At first I gave him shit for moving out. I was pissed. James is one of my best friends. We fight all the time, but only when other people are around. When its just me and him we get along perfectly. I would say like peanut butter and jelly.
My other roommate, Chris just didn't get along with James. James likes to chill out, play video games, smoke weed, and watch movies. He doesn't like to drink. He will drink but only when it is the close knit group of friends. Basically 5 guys( our group) and our girlfriends. That's it he hates partying all crazy all the time. He likes having the close 5 friends and nobody else.
My roommate Chris is a fucking drunk. No lie he is. He will wake up and start drinking at 9am in the morning after we just had a rager the night before. I'm best friends with both of them. But when James was living with us he was kind of the scapegoat. It was easy to get mad at James. James is fucking dumb. He really is a dumb fat kid. He doesn't mean any harm he just a bumbling buffoon and he just fucks shit up. So he got most of the rage in the apartment.
But now that James moved out I see exactly what he used to always bitch about Chris about. I see it vividly.
We have a problem in our apartment. Its called squatters.
Yes, can you believe we have squatters in an apartment? Well, It seems when you live with Chris all his friends from his hometown will come down to visit. They live fucking 6+ hours away. When my friends from out of town visit they stay at a maximum 5 days and that is only if it is Spring Break or some holiday of that nature. But not Chris. His moocher, poor, broke friends from his town will come over broke. They will stay for about 1-2 weeks.
Just out of nowhere. Just like that. They will stay at our place. They have dirty hair, fucking punk rock, bummy, fucking people. They are awesome though. I mean they have the best slacker, stoner, drug addict take on life. I mean they are nice as shit and there philosophy is to share everything with everyone.
That's cool. Except for one fucking problem...
They never bring anything to the fucking table! Not one thing! They will just keep taking out of the pot. Whether its food, beer, pot, going to the movies etc...
They give you the puppy dog eyes and will ask you if they can get a bite of your pizza or else get a taste of you're sandwich, or else have a sip of you're vitamin water. It just gets to the point where it is too much.
I was raised right. I will never eat in front of someone, I give people places to say at my house sometimes up until 2 months!. I am just a very courteous person but I get mad when assholes just take advantage.
That's what all his friends do. So fat James had enough and told me he was leaving. I was kind of pissed about it but Chris pretty much drove him out of the place. Now I feel that I'm in James position now.
Now we are moving into a new apartment. I have to fucking nickel and dime Chris because he tries to bully his way by yelling, and bitching into trying to fuck people over with living quarters. What sense does it make if we get a two bedroom and I fucking share a fucking room and you want your own but I should pay the same amount as you? What you should pay only 600 for you're own room but me and Ryan should pay the same 600 for a shared room? are you fucking nuts? oh, because we walk around the living room? or we have our own bathroom in the room. That would make sense Chris if only the rooms weren't the exact same square footing. I'm just appalled at this idiot, also I'm pissed that Ryan tried to agree to this bullshit without consulting me. Now I have to argue my ass off today and its moving day! Fucking retard Chris.
OK, uber here is why I'm really pissed.
There was this kid named Dan. When Ryan and I lived in my other apartment our old roommate Steve told said he knew a kid that needed a place to stay. We were okay with that because Ryan and I had let our buddy Steve pay less rent than us and have his own room only because he was dirt poor. ( This kid had no help from his parents in college so he worked at fucking the grocery store about 40-60hrs a week to go to college. We took pity and just hooked him up so to speak).
So, Dan moved in. He moved in all his stuff and because he moved in 2 weeks into the month we told him to just start paying us at the first of the next month.( were generous idiot's). This was around winter break so at the first of the month I wouldn't be in town, neither would Ryan. So we told Dan to pay Steve our roommate when the first came. At the time we had 2 other people staying in our place because they had no where to go as well. So we tell everyone to pay. We leave back home. They don't pay.
Dan stayed at our place rent free for about 2 months and when we finally had him pay because he was eating up all our food, and all our shit he didn't pay. He left. So my mom had to pay about an extra $600 in rent to cover his half. He just ducked me for about a good 2 months. I told all our friends that if I find this kid I'm kicking the shit out of him and the word got out.
He ducked, and hid from me for about 2 months. Then he finally paid me because we were going to be at the same party and He knew he would fetch a beating. So he gave me my money after I had to chase this fuck down for 2 months!
Fast forward.
I get back from winter vacation this year and who do I see squatting on my couch? Dan. I get very pissed off. James hates him because James was there during the rent fiasco, but he has become buddy, buddy with Chris. At first he comes over for our parties and leaves, then it goes he's over for 2 days then goes home, then to 5 days and goes home, until now where he is basically living with us rent free.
Our other buddy, Morgan said he was doing the same thing at his place as well. They basically told him to pay or get out. So he came to us with some bullshit ass fucking story about going to rehab and how his mom wanted him to.
It was an elaborate tale uber! So we said we would let him stay for 2 more weeks until he went to rehab. But he never went, I mean he never fucking went. He fucking missed the first day, over slept then next, then by the fucking fifth day when I started asking questions he said he wasn't going to go because he doesn't need it. But he never seemed like a junkie in the first place. I mean he drank as much as Chris, Ryan and I. He may do a little blow every fucking month or something but he's not addicted because "HE CAN"T AFFORD IT!"
So it comes to fucking yesterday and Ryan and I are going to talk to Chris about Dan. I mean Dan has really been putting in his work. He parties with Chris what ever time it is. It can be fucking 1 in the morning, fucking 9am, or fucking 11am on a Tuesday if Chris says he wants to do it, Dan will do it. Regardless.
So, Dan is playing his Chris card to stay in our place. Ryan and I love Chris but we aren't going to drink every fucking day with him. That's why Chris had beef with James because James wouldn't drink, and party with him every fucking day. So now Chris has his party buddy. It's been about 2 1/2 months of Dan's bullshit. I think he has to go.
But the icing on the cake uber is that just yesterday when we mustered the courage to talk to Dan about moving the fuck out. Him and Chris got hit by a car in the back. Now his ankle is all fucked up, and he's on crutches. Now we feel like asshole telling him to get the fuck out.
I don't know what to do. I'm a nice guy uber, I like Dan as a person. But after what he pulled before I will never trust him. Never it's gone. He is trying to be our "Best friend" and also trying to be the whole " I will fight for you guys, no matter what etc.. crap". I don't much care for it. I already have my friends. But Chris is all about him because he's down to do whatever Chris wants to do.
Dan doesn't go to school. He just got a job at some place about a week ago. He is living for free and pissing me off. Also I'm starting to regret even living with Chris. It's only four months uber until I transfer if I still want to go to school. I guess I just need a break.
So what the fuck do you all think? I need to kick this squatter out. Have you guys ever been through this bullshit?

oh, this is what really pissed me off. Dan is out there talking to me about buying a car for about 8-10 G's.
I look at him like "oh, you're buying a car but you couldn't seem to give us rent or any money for the last fucking 2 weeks. Fuck off.

The follow up debate.
Well we argued this morning. Chris tried to hurl his insults and I hurled them right back.
He started to bitch about how he handled everything. I looked at him and said "oh you mean your mom paid all your rent like always wow you are sure responsible".
He tried to threaten me with some bullshit and I just laughed in his face. I said to him I'm not your sister bro, I don't scare easily.
Then it got even more heated. I yelled out in front of Dan that "no one lives here". No one!
I don't give a fuck no one lives here. Everyone got quiet and I left. To class. There will be more arguing later tonight.
I guarantee it. I'm not letting Chris run the finances.

i lived like this when i was 21-22. then i was forced to grow up and participate in the adult world.
if you are over the age of 23, and are still living like this, you should seriously consider growing up. if you aren't, carry on, this is normal.

The follow up to the post earlier today....
It got very heated. We had a huge argument Chris and I. I told him that I wouldn't be paying shit for him to have his own room.
He gave me some Gem about his mom paying and he couldn't ask her for it. Then I hit him with the fact that is his mom more important then mine? I mean What the fuck.
We argued and I said my piece. I don't want Dan in my house because it's the fucking principal.
We kicked out my best friend James and our other buddy Jordan. Jordan fucking did everything for us. He gave us rides, picked us up, fucking did anything we wanted to do and we told him to get out. He was one of the boys.
Then we get fucking Dan who is only here because he sucks Chris's dick. I told Chris that if people were going to live in our house they had to pay a fucking squatters tax. That means they need to pay upwards of $20 a day. He agreed but him and Ryan hate confrontation. I can't stand Ryan because he won't do a damn thing. He will just sit there and wait for shit to be done for him. He has to have everyone fucking like him.
I fucking end up being the fucking bad guy and its utter bullshit. I fucking paid these fucks ways for a long time and now I'm over. I don't need this bullshit. I don't want it.
Tonight is going to be the talk. He has to go. That's it. He can't be in the apartment.
I don't care what he does he cannot live here. I will post what happens tonight uber.
Life is starting to look like shit. Yep! It really is.

Get rid of these people. I don't care how great you think your friends are, if they're selfish cunts then kick them to the curb and quit whining. Sometimes that's what it takes; a good kick in the ass and your friends wise up. Not all the time, but sometimes.
By the way, an old flatmate dicked me over on a $9,850 contract. I had to take a loan to pay the leasing office, but I payed the whole thing off. "Mom" never paid me a dime for my mistakes.
You can't stop people from doing what they want to do, no matter how selfish, idiotic, or ass-holish their actions are. Best to step aside and let them reap their own consequences. Get your own place or stay at home if you can't handle it.

I have a little understand of what you're dealing with. My cousin had to move out of her aparment cause her roommate had parties all the time and had random people living with them.
I sort of had that going on with me, too, at one point...but never to the extreme you have.
Things you have to consider: who is on the lease? If there is a lease to the apartment and you're on it, you have every right to tell the fuckers to get out. Of course, if Chris is also on it, it might be a little harder. But you have the right to evict anyone who is not paying rent there (and PROVING that they are as well). Well...maybe. It varies from state to state.
If they aren't paying, then you can kick them out. And if you don't have a written agreement with them staying for a temporary legnth of time, I don't think you need to give them the 30 days notice as well because...well...they fucking mooched their way into your living quarters anyways.
Yes, you can love people as friends and the like...but when it comes to money and your financial woes, don't be a pussy and get results. Bottom line: pay up or move out. If they don't, you should get the other money from Chris then to cover his cost. If he doesn't want to, then you have the damn right to kick other non-payers out. Why should you be fucked?
