To make up for the very obvious attempt at attention, I'll ask a few musical questions before I get to the picture.

1) Any good bands I should check out? My musical preferences range from Against Me!/Bad Religion/Social Distortion to Avenged Sevenfold/Rise Against to Pink Floyd/Sublime/311.

2) What is your favorite guitar solo ever? Not necessarily talking about most technical solo, just your favorite to listen to. Personally I enjoy the solo from Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" as well as "Gemini" by Brian Kahanek.

3) Favorite drummer? I'm a bit partial to The Rev, the drummer from Avenged Sevenfold. I don't care if you hate the band, you gotta respect this guy's skills.

4) Finally, best decade for music? I'd most likely say the '90s, what with Green Day, Offspring, NOFX, and Bad Religion running around in their prime. Not only that, but the rap/hip-hop genre was forming and putting out some of the best rap albums to date.

Anyway, here's the camwhore. I was sifting through some old pictures and found one of me from freshman year. Now that I'm about to graduate, it is interesting to see a side-by-side comparison from 2005 to 2008 and note the differences in appearance.

1) depends what you're looking for, really. yeasayer is new and their album's very unique. i listen to metal mostly, but there's so many different subcategories of that i wouldn't know where to start you off without some sort of direction. arcturus' "the sham mirrors" is one of my favorite albums of all time, though

2) keep of kalessin's 'winged watcher' has a nice one, also any of the millions that riverside uses in their songs

3) at the moment, probably david gray(from akercocke, not the babylon guy). or thordendal. or belphegor's latest drummer

4) current

I dig your taste in music. I love Sublime and 311 and I agree that the mid-90s kicked ass, with Green Day and Offspring and Nirvana and Oasis and STP and all that shit.

COMMENTS...

1 - At The Drive-In > Sparta + The Mars Volta

2 - Dream Theater would be the greatest band on the planet if they simply killed that fucking lead singer.

3 - Porcupine Tree is almost TOO diverse. Their albums are all over the place.

Sorry Orphy, I don't know what came over me.

You're absolutely right. I shall now go beat myself with something sharp and heavy for the unpure thoughts I had.

The guilt is terrible. I shall leave the whoring up to you from now on I think.

You have to admit though, he is awfully cute. Not rough and tumble enough for me, but cute nevertheless. Wheres lungfish......?

1) If you're into Pink Floyd, go for Porcupine Tree. Very experimental/acid in the early days, but now they're more prog rock/metal. Diverse Music.

2) Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

3) Portnoy or Peart. Undecided.

4) 70's win out.

Axolotl has some good taste. you can't go wrong with Sparta/At the Drive-In. i also like me some Snapcase. especially their Progression Through Unlearning album. just thought i'd throw that in there.

and although i think Nevermore is a pretty cool band, i can only listen to so much of them. they don't stay in winamp for very long before i need to listen to something else. but they are definitely worth checking out.

1) Recently I've been getting more into the old post-hardcore scene, At the drive-In, Glassjaw, Mineral, etc. They were original for their time, and I like them. Can't go wrong with prog-metal. Try Opeth, Nevermore, Katatonia, etc.

2) Melissa, by Mercyful Fate. Leper Affinity, by Opeth. Second Heartbeat, by Avenged sevenfold.

3) Whoever is the drummer for Darkane and Martin Lopez from Opeth.

4) definitly the 90s.

You kind of look like the skinny kid from Disturbia/Transformers...you decide if that's a good thing or bad.
These questions seem rather trivial, however I love Trivial Pursuit so here goes

1) someone mentioned 'Days of the New' below and I love them, so yeah...that works

2) meh! me attempting to play guitar hero?! Horrible

3) Matt Cameron, hands down! the Soundgarden variety preferably. I can only tolerate a few ASF songs as many flirt with emo-ism, I haven't noticed the drums

4) 1920s "RAWKED"!!! Iunno, no real winner here in my books ..although I will give bonus points to any decade excluding Green Day

1 - Try to find some stuff by The Legion Of Doom. It's a producer and the ex-frontman of Face To Face. They make industrial mash-ups of various punk/hardcore/emo/indie/metal songs. (Atreyu VS It Dies Today, Thrice VS Alkaline Trio, ect) Given the stuff you mentioned, I think you may dig it.

2 - I'm increasingly becoming a big fan of the sub-genre known as "Post-Rock." I've always loved Sigur Ros, and I'm getting more into Mogwai, Godspeed, Explosions In The Sky, and the like. I wouldn't really classify this as a 'Guitar Solo,' but more as building guitar movement: "Fix The Sky A Little" by 65 Days Of Static.

3 - Greatest rock drummer in the world? The default answer is Neil Pert from Rush. However, they just had this huge article in Blender magazine breaking down the greatest Metal Drummer. Based out of 4 catagories (Thrash, Death, Math, Old School), they gave detailed answers on why each drummer moved forward. The winner??? Tomas Haake of Meshuggah.

4 - I dunno...

If if he's not going to be remembered for The Daily Show (the one Jon Stewart took over), I would at least hope people would remember him from the late night talk show that only HAD HIS NAME IN THE TITLE.

Or not, whatev'.

1) i'm not good at recommending bands anymore because i've been out of the music scene a little with deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan and all, but i've been on a Killswitch Engage kick lately. i also love Alkaline Trio which is totally out of character for me if you know me. the music is simple, but i love the harmonizing and the lyrics are incredible.

2) favorite solo i think (but not sure) may be Pink Floyd - Mother. it's nice and mellow and not too technical (i learned to play it even when i sucked at guitar). right now i'm learning the Sweet Child Of Mine solo. i'm halfway through it but i'm stuck on the part when it starts to get faster. i can play the first half of it perfectly though, for what it's worth!

3) i've always had a deep respect for metal drummers because i think it's hard to play a double bass pedal as fast as they do and still keep a fast rhythm going with your sticks. i'm not a drummer, so i guess i don't really know. the guy that does the drums for Dethklok from Metalocalypse is fuckin' awesome. i also like Tre from Green Day. especially his stuff on Dookie. it was cool when he destroyed his drum set and set it on fire in St. Louis.

4) definitely the 90's. so many of my favorites are from the 90's. hands down.

Not my cup of tea, but terribly good looking.

I have no music recommendations, sorry.

(Really, no whoring. Every now and then, I actually surprise myself, too).

You look like a scrubby hobo in the senior year pic.

Days of the New is a pretty kickass band I would say.

Burns: Well, Simpson, I must say, once you're been through something
like that with a person, you never want to see that person again.

Homer: You said it, you weirdo.
