The protagonist was going about his life where he is a weak nobody that nobody cares about. A terrible evil falls upon the protagonist's village/ home town/ people. The protagonist escapes, however someone close to him dies.
The protagonist gets angry and while wandering the land he meets an older, wiser person who tells him about the antagonist. The protagonist is inconsolable and treats the mentor badly, but agrees to travel with them in order to avenge his dead loved one. They travel to the antagonist's lair, which takes many weeks. The journey however is shortened by the montage of the protagonist being trained by his new mentor, and they become friends.
The pair comes close to the antagonist's lair and the mentor is slain by the minions and underlings of the antagonist. The protagonist battles those who killed his mentor, displaying his newfound battle prowess that he has trained so long on.
After the fight he rushes to the side of his fallen mentor, who despite the gruesome damage to his skull and the fact his brain is leaking out of his head manages to tell the protagonist that he must defeat the antagonist. The mentor says the last word in his sentence, and he lets loose a rasping last breath. The protagonist cries proving that while in the montage they have indeed become close. The Protagonist then steels himself to what must be done and reaffirms his will to kill the antagonist.
The protagonist reaches the lair of the antagonist. They do battle, exchanging deadly one-liners. The protagonist stumbles and falls. Instead of simply administering the coup de grace, the antagonist...true to his name antagonizes the protagonist while he is fallen.
During this time, the ghost of the dead family member tells the protagonist how great they are. The ghost of the mentor follows them up by telling the protagonist to get up and to fight. Just as the antagonist approaches to finish the fight the protagonist somehow gets off a lucky shot/stab/whatever and kills the antagonist.
Everything is good, and back to normal. The protagonist looks at the sky and thinks about his dead mentor and family and thinks they are proud. The once weak protagonist is now super rich and powerful. Everybody loves him.
THE END

When you were young and your heart was like an open book
You used to say live and let live
(you know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But in this ever changing world in which we live in
Makes you give in and cry
Say MINUS TWO, DIE
MINUS TWO, DIE
MINUS TWO, DIE
MINUS TWO, DIE
