I should preface this by acknowledging that my family is completely bat shit insane.
Yesterday for whatever reason the discussion came up via e-mail about the whole illegal immigration thing. I think it started with someone sending one of those stupid forwarded e-mail fake letters to the editor all Johnny gung-ho go America the rest of the world is a cesspool of carp things.
That's right I said "carp".
Anyway one of my oh so well informed relatives made some comment about how the 9/11 hijackers came through our porous border with Mexico.
?
Side note: I once had an argument with this same rather gullible person about whether the Blair Witch Project was "real" like oh sure a snuff film would be released in all the major theaters.
I had never heard this particular zinger before though and I was pretty sure it wasn't true so I decided to see if I could find out. It took me about 30 seconds on google to scare up the report from the 9/11 Commission.

None of which is the point, the point is that after all of this we got this from another relative:

Because the secular newspapers all support open borders. They want a secular nation without any traditional, religious values - no moral judgments. WTF?
I don't even know where to start with this. I think I'm going to ignore it but DAHAM someone has taken the train to crazy town.

Are you familiar with 'carping?' One use of the word is to denote squeezing a sleeping person's nostrils shut until the lack of oxygen causes them to suck in air through the mouth. The resulting action resembles a fish out of water.

I can't get "secular newspaper" out of my mind. What does that mean? Does that mean that any time he doesn't agree with what he sees in a newspaper (cough global warming, no WMD in Iraq...) it is because it is a secular newspaper with an agenda.
