I read one of the first news reports announcing the death of Charlton Heston. They cited unspecific cause. I am praying it is not gun related despite the irony and humor I would find in a situation like that. I fear Heston as a martyr will be more powerful than when he was alive. Just like Old Ben Kenobi.
I hate it when people die. Not because I have some sort of low self worth in which I need to focus all of my energy and attention on them, like Christians do to Christ. I just get annoyed with the speculation and hype that is generated by the search to find a replacement. It becomes Flava of Love. It becomes American Idol. It becomes a contest that no matter who is left standing, that person can hardly be considered a winner.
If they wanted to do it right, VH1 should make all the girls kicked off of Flava of Love have a choice between 5 minutes of French kissing or 10 minutes of anal sex with the Clock King. Being in a relationship of any length with him is hardly a prize worth fighting for. But hey, at least it gets some whores off the street.
So Heston is dead. What was that he was saying about prying something from his cold dead hands? The next spokesman for the NRA will be the one who can remove that gun. A less romantic version of King Arthur. The sword in the stone was still a sword, an instrument of war.
Personally, I am more concerned with who will replace Heath Ledger as the Joker in future Batman movies. Hopefully they will find someone who isn't nearly the pussy that Ledger was.
He was distraught over the dark, trouble characters he was playing. That lead him to take pills to help him sleep and deal with the anxiety. Death through misadventure. Let me see if I totally understand this. Heath Ledger died basically because he had a hard time pretending.... Fucking weak.
So how do you find someone to play the Joker? Well, the last one ended up dead because pretending to be that unstable proved to be too much for him to deal with. So in order to get around that little problem we need to find someone who is already crazy, already unstable. In other words it is time for Gary Busey.......
