By now, I know all American taxpayers are familiar with Bush's economic stimulus plan. If you make less that a $150,000/year, and you filed taxes, Uncle W. is gonna send you some money.
I'm curious, how are you going to piss it away?

I saw this happen on an episode of Futurama and assumed the premise was pretend. That they actually do this is somewhat surreal.
I would spend $600 on a really comfy chair for sitting on.

Forensic, $300 is the bare min for people like us, so you could see more.
I'll probably blow mine on accessories for my new macbook. Considering how Apple screws you on every accessory, that probably won't buy much.
I know quite a few people who are proud of the fact that they don't pay taxes. They haven't paid taxes in 20 years. Not only do they miss out on bullshit 'rebates' like this, but I think the IRS does annual random comparisons of social security numbers and taxpayers and nails the fuck out of people when a number has no coressponding returns.
In other news, I have a 3 day weekend coming and the forecast is cool clear nights and sunny days in the high 70s. I can live with that.

In all honesty I'm not entirely sure how it's all working out. I had to get my blokes accountant to work out my tax refund (or what ever the bugger it is). I had to pay a shed load of emergency tax earlier this year. They want to give it back.
I thought it was rather sweet of them.

It isn't a "rebate." It's a payday loan. That couple grand you're getting now is deducted from your refund and you may end up owing in April 09.

Actually, if I remember the last rebate or whatever its called correctly, it is not dedcuted from your next refund, but it is taxable as income. Tax on $600 would be under $200 for most that qualify for this rebate

First I'm going to catch up on my mortgage payments so I don't lose my house. Then I'm going to gas up the Hummer, drive to the mall and buy something made in America. After that I'll treat all my friends to a movie. And whatever's left over I'll put into my IRA because my investments have really taken a hit lately.
Or maybe I'll just spend it all on magic mushrooms instead.

I hope you are joking. If $600-1200 will help you catch up on mortgage payments then you must have a really low payment or are not behind on the payment. Also, if you are having trouble making you mortgage and own a Hummer, I see a problem with prioitizing.
As for my wife and I, we are getting some yard work taken care of...about 2000 sq ft of sod and possibly adding more concrete to our patio...depends on prices since its the prime season for such work and the prices are probably a bit higher.
