I took a late lunch and checked out the Olypmic Torch protests along San Francisco's waterfront.
The city wimped out and rerouted the torch away from THOUSANDS waiting to see it.
Tibetan Buddhist monks are funny. They are timy and really easy to push around.

If a major case of the nasties (flu/virus/disease) should ever start in this country, we're all pretty much fucked.
I've worked healthcare since I was 18 and the majority of hospitals and medical facilities are no where near prepared to handle a nasties outbreak.
Considering the number of beds and number of hospitals compared to a city's population, there's no way everyone can receive treatment.
And while these public service information packets are all very well and good, chances are it ultimately won't make a damn bit of difference.
With that, I've fullfiled my sunshine spreading quota for today.

Hospitals in this country are barely qualified to handle routine cases. My wife had THREE hip surgeries instead of one from infections due to poor safety practices in the hospital. Dipshits moving things from one side of a two-bed room to the other without gloves. Unwrapped gauze pads should be illegal.
I almost had to physically eject a nurse from the room for refusing to put on gloves before changing a dressing. It's a wonder anyone comes out alive.
