Definetly never thought my first post on uber was going to be a shitty english assignment I just finished and turned in for English 101. I assumed my first post would be something of utter awesomeness that would awe all of you into submission, making you all want to kiss my feet and follow me aroudn with cameras and stuff. Yes, I suck at english, yes I know my intro doesn't match my conclusion, this is a rough draft and I wrote it while watching the movie.
Here it is, in all it's horribleness.
Movie Essay
"We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is, the indifference of good men." (The Boondock Saints) The movie The Boondock Saints is about two unconventional crime fighting Irish brothers in Boston that fell into the business that they continued to carry out. They decide to take it upon themselves to cull the streets of the more undesirable characters when they themselves are attacked at their home after a bar fight. The point of this movie is to show society how complacent it has become with the crimes happening every day, how the justice system can be easily manipulated to keep criminals out on the streets if they have enough money, and how average citizens can take it upon themselves to help keep our streets safer, although this movie shows an extreme approach to that situation.
The dark figure of crime, which is a term that describes the difference between actual crimes committed and crimes reported, calls into question the reliability of crime statistics that have been collected due to many different reasons. Part of the determining factor in the dark figure is the willingness of the victim to report the crime, whether it is due to embarrassment, having little to no trust in the police, or not wanting the offender to be harmed. Another factor in the dark figure is that the public, or witnesses, believe that the law broken is not a big enough problem to warrant being reported. If citizens everywhere took a stand and started reporting all crimes that they witness, then the crime rate would start to plummet as criminals would be less sure of getting away with their crime of choice.
Since the movie is about vigilantism, there are many criminals that make an appearance throughout the movie. As the police and FBI make appearances in the movie you realize that many of the criminals are recognized by the law enforcement officials as people associated with organized crime, or repeat offenders that make a living off of crime. The dilemma faced by the FBI agent who is tracking the vigilantes in this movie is, after the conclusion is reached that the only "victims" are repeat offenders and those associated with the many mafias, is whether or not the vigilantes are committing an evil act. Vigilantes are often looked upon by society as criminals themselves, as the act of vigilantism is to ignore the law altogether as it is deemed insufficient by the vigilante.
Any citizen can take it upon themselves to make our streets a safer place, though it would not be a good idea to take it to the level that the movie has. There are many organizations, such as the Neighborhood Watch, that help our communities become more action-oriented in crime reduction by patrolling their own neighborhoods, as well as not only watching out for their own selves and properties, but watching out for the people around them as well. Many people also believe that by standing by and doing nothing while watching a crime in progress is just as bad, if not worse than actually committing the crime. This is more of a moral obligation to do what is deemed right in the situation, as opposed to doing wrong which would be doing nothing.
Despite the fact that The Boondock Saints is violent and full of coarse language, I believe that it shows how big of a problem the indifference to a crime is, as well as vigilantes sometimes being morally right, while technically breaking the law, and subtly showing to the public that they too can become active in reducing the crime in our cities.
Alright, commence the ripping. I mainly just want to pass english 101, and I hate writing about subjects I could care less about.

Nice, 1 helpful comment out of 26 so far. That's better then what I thought. However, insults were lacking. Be more creative about my lack of literary skills.

I realize I'm old and out of touch, but I can't believe they let you do a report on a movie for an English assignment. It's like letting someone dissect a stuffed animal for a biology final.

Your pending failure of English class will not be entirely unrelated to the fact that you're completely illiterate.

"We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is, the indifference of good men." (The Boondock Saints)
-----
If (The Boondock Saints) was an attempt at citation, you failed miserably. First of all, I imagine there is some sort of MLA format for movie quotes, and what you did is probably not it. Secondly, when citing, the punctuation mark goes at the end of the citation, so the sentence would look like this:
"We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is, the indifference of good men" (The Boondock Saints).

Hm... Perhaps I should have thought of the lack of formatting on here before posting. Plus, I looked at my title. I did fail that. I -1 myself.

The phrase is " I COULDN'T care less". "I could care less" implies that you at least care a little about the subject.
And no, if you say it the "could care less" way is neither ironic nor is it sarcastic, its just idiotic and makes no sense.
Also this was gash.

I haven't read this yet, but I'll give you a hint- you could fail English based on your title alone.
