In stories and movies, Christians use crosses and items such as holy water to repel vampires. What happens if a vampire attacks a Muslim? Do they smother them in prayer rugs or something?

**sigh**
Differences in lore:
Sometimes it's simply a matter of the faith of the intended victim. The item (cross) means nothing without faith to back it. Therefore, any religious icon can be used as long as there is faith behind it, giving it strength. It is the faith that the vampire is repelled by, the icon a talisman for said faith.
However..
According to other sources, it depends on the religion practiced by the vampire when he was alive. A man born into Christiandom and turned would be repelled by the cross but by the star of david and vice versa. This concept was applicable centuries ago, but not so much today in a global community. (especially with the concept of atheists and agnostics)
Regardless, not really a good post...

Don't even think about such things, because stuff like that was poorly thought out and is a waste of time.
