Our HD is screwing up. Everything was all peaches and sunshine until they did some sort of upgrade to the system. They sent a nice glossy brochure about it. I hoped they were joking but apparently not. Oddly enough they left a few details off the brochure, like how we were not going to be able to save as much on the DVR and that everyone would look tall and kinda skinny.

The thing also seem to randomly reset itself from time to time so that's odd.

Today's fun is that we can't get one of the HD channels. By that I mean that all but ONE of the HD channels is fine, naturally the one we watch the most is the one not coming in. We can get the non-HD version but not the HD version. The non HD version is, for one thing, not in HD but it's also really strange looking like a really small picture inside a black box that is inside a gray box.

We called Time Warner about it and Keisha on the phone said that the problem is that as more and more people are converting to HD there is too much traffic - like a website that too many people are trying to post to.

?

I have a hard time thinking that more people are excited about the 6:00 news than oh say the NCAA Final Four.

Is this possible or is Keisha just sayin'

There is a guy coming (or not you know Time Warner) on Thursday. The plan is for Sam to distract him while I go get the distributer cap off his truck.

No one is leaving here until my cable is fixed.

Is there a fuse on a starter? It might be easier to just take his keys.

We mostly watch sports in HD but at the moment we're watching a show on the Everglades.

HD is bullshit.

I have Comcast and about every 10-15 minutes whatever I'm working has a hiccup where the screen gets pixelated and the sound goes out. Fucking sucks.

Or I will record a show and when I go to watch it, the whole thing is fucked up.

And it all started with "an upgrade".

I'm thinking of going back to plain old Network TV.

What sorts of shows do you watch in HD? Generally, I only watch the Discover Channel, Animal Planet, or the BBC, none of which would benefit much from HD quality; especially since I only have them on for white noise while I play around in 3ds Max.

I don't watch nearly enough tv to justify HD, premium channels, or even a bigger tv (I still have my first from high school).

I'm ok with this.

This is certainly dissapointing Loki. What happened to you?

HD is for one thing only....

....Online Call Of Duty 4! Who the fuck needs these "channel" things. Like images that you watch but don't play along? That sounds like AIDS man, pure AIDS.

wow, you've really degenerated eh? your posts used to be relevant, interesting, witty, and mostly about the evils of the world. you've given in, and are bitching about the one channel you don't get in high definition, oh you get it in regular definition, but that's just not good enough. how many times did you say HD in this post? sickening.

sellout.

What year truck you suppose the TW guy is driving?
Wiki:
Modern engine designs have done away with the distributor and coil, instead performing the distribution function in the primary circuit electronically and applying the primary (low-voltage) pulse to individual coils for each spark plug. In some cars, the coils are mounted together in a 'coil pack'; others utilize a coil located very near to or directly on top of each spark plug (Direct Ignition or coil-on-plug). This avoids the need to switch very high voltages, which is very often a source of trouble, especially in damp conditions. These systems also allow finer levels of ignition control by the engine computer, which assists in increasing power output, decreasing fuel consumption and emissions, and implementing features such as Active Fuel Management.

HD does NOT work like that.

What probably happened is the update was security features, and it took up a decent portion of the available room on it. During the process, whoever touched it probably reset some settings.

They need to fix it before they leave. There is no excuse for them leaving before it is working to your satisfaction.

This morning I woke up, decided to masturbate, couldn't get hard so I gave up after about five minutes, made some toast with peanut butter, made coffee, had a cigarette and read the paper, had a shower, went to work, came home, checked my e-mail, received a call from work, logged into this site and posted this comment.

Your television has been upgraded to the point that it's now intelligent enough to know that what it is feeding you is 99.99995% utter brain-stagnating mind pollution. Since it has to watch all the channels at once while you only watch one at a time it is, in a fit of electronic altruism, selflessly trying to prevent you from suffering the brain damage that it has already incurred. Save yourself and heed the e-warning; go outside and play.

satellite is the way forward old egg.

cable has far too little bandwidth for a comprehensive HD offering.
-----
It has more than enough. Do we need 17 Rosary Channels in analog, taking up the bandwidth of 2 compressed 720p channels each?

No. No we do not.

You can download books from google books. That may or may not keep you awake. What if you downloaded the movie to a thumb drive and watch it from there.

ooh ooh better yet, go to someone else's desk to watch it
