RE: Family Guy's skit (& other jokes about Cookie in rehab)
Well, the overall theme to both of these posts is NOT simply that Cookie Monster went to rehab. I'm not even taking sole credit for the comparison to Tom Waits' voice. After my friend and I started fleshing out this idea (he's the one with the photoshop skills), I scoured the net for similar sketches and parodies of Tom Waits and Cookie Monster. Partly to avoid these types of accusations, and to make sure we were doing something at least a little original (something I do before I post anything time-consuming on here).
Thing is, I didn't find too much. An album review here or there saying Waits sounded like Cookie or Oscar the Grouch, but nothing substantial. I only found out THEN that other people even made the same comparison (not that it's a stretch, I'm just saying).
If there's other stuff out there, I have never seen it.

PS: It's like the insinuation in the 1st post that Bert & Ernie are gay. That's been done countless times-- we just thought it'd be fun (for us) to put them in The Blue Oyster drinking Zimas.
