I've been practicing up on golf for the 6th Annual Clownshow, CS VI, CS6, etc. etc. and am having a terrible time controlling my slice.
I've heard close your golf head but I can't and anything short of turning 30 degrees towards my left won't work and that only works if there isn't an obstacle off the tee.
Insert -2's here.

swing your grip not your club, and don't kill it.

stop hitting across the golf ball as in swinging from outside in. swing striaght through.

I would suggest that you grab your golf bag and clubs and drive over to your nearest driving range or practice area.
But on the way, take a turn and head to the nearest bridge over a large body of water, stop your car- preferrably in heavy traffic - throw your bag and clubs into the river, get back in your car, do a U-Turn and drive head first into oncoming traffic.
IF THIS WORKS I EXPECT TO GET PAID FOR THIS.

slow down your swing, stop trying to hit it so hard, most of it will be grip but impossible to help over the internet, certainly at my level any way!
I've worked hard on reducing my slice so much of it was grip and stance related.
A short term fix though is to slow it down.

Just like the Balmer Peak in programming, a BAC of a certain percentage will
bestow superhuman golf ability.

Everybody gets one:
What's happening is your wrist isn't quite right. When you're going from the high downward ark to the apex on the way back, your wrist is essentially turning incorrectly against the motion of your back.
What you should do, is either try to rotate the right wrist when you're holding the grip before the swing, adjust your footing, straighten your back slightly, straighten your wrists by making the muscle more tense, or work at some elementary swing techniques to get back to the basics.
I'd work at these for a little while, and see what gives the best results. Then again, it could be an off day, stress related judgement error, or any second guessing pre-swing.
Best of luck.

Ugh, not just United, Mr.
What was with all the crazy whistling?
berty constantly makes sweeping statements regarding ones class and gets away with it, why not me too?
Yes, I suppose there are municipal course that are cheaper, but what I first said still stands.

What's class got to do with anything? Seriously.
And United were a shambles, lucky to get away with a draw.

Yes, but Hurty, you are poor middle class, so you don't count.
Did you see the Man Utd/Barcelona game? Painful to watch and the ref was a wanker.

Golf can be pretty cheap as long as you play on municipal courses and buy either second hand / not brand name clubs. I can play a round for £7 and use a set of bladed clubs from the 80's. I'm pretty poor, but it's enjoyable.

I'm an Engineer, I can't leave things alone, and I have a terrible slice. To address the slice and avoid tedious golf lessons I modified an old garage-sale persimmon driver so that it's face was concave rather than convex, added some lead weight to the heel and toe of the clubhead, and shortened the steel shaft about two inches. The club is illegal as hell for tournament play and has a pretty small sweet spot, but if you catch it right it'll go over 280 yards and dead straight. Even if you miss the sweet spot it'll still knock it ~180 and on the fairway.

Make sure that when you're gripping the club the sort of V shapes between your thumbs and knuckles are both pointing towards your right shoulder. Worked for me.

Try washing your balls beforehand and gripping the shaft more firmly.
Wouldn't hurt to acquire a larger wood, either.
