I can answer this. All studenty accomodation in Newcastle is adorned with wood chip walls. My old flat was completely wood chip --> nice
Personally I think you're going round and round in circles on the immigration argument though... Lets throw smelly wee chavs, junkies, jakeys, crack whores into the pot and label them all indiscrimantly pond-scum.
Bear in mind we're letting thousands of immigrants into the country every year. A proportion of these are going to fall into the pond-scum end of the dream pool and a portion will fall into the side labelled 'decent society'.
Unfortunately it is always the minority that spoil it for the rest. Immigrants become an issue because a few badly behaved examples fuck it up for them. I don't give a toss how they get into the country as long as when they get here they are grateful for what they get, they work hard and they do not take from us longer than they should. Understandably, most will need some assistance when they get here to get on their feet. This is no worse than forking out money every week to our native losers who never intend working and would rob their own grannies.
I like immigrants, they add a bit of flavour and variety to the country. So long as they keep their AK's in their back pocket, I don't have a problem with them.

I don't know enough about the UK to speak about immigrants contribution to the economy.
As far as the US goes illegal immigration does far more damage to the economy than they contribute. A lot of the money made gets sent back to the home country. Roughly 20% of the federal prison population are illegal immigrants. Many places in California it is over 50%. They keeps wages in the US low. The rate of public assistance for households lead by illegal immigrants is much higher than for the general public. Etc.
I am all for LEGAL immigration from mexico. Legal immigrants in the US are far less likely to end up in jail (than natural born citizens), and far less liely to end up on public assistance.

Finally getting somewhere. Why are people forced out? Are they booted for not paying rent, or is there some govt office that routinely moves people because they are brown? Now the fact that you aren't for open borders and aren't for allowing religious fundamentalists who incite violence shows a bit of common sense, but the group you work for (according to the points you made about it) doesn't.

I look unkempt because I do not style my hair, beyond occasionally rubbing wax through it. I don't shave regularly because I simply cannot be bothered, and I also suffer from psoriasis occasionally on my face and shaving aggravates it; in any case, I never clean shave as both me and my lady prefer the 'not the chin of a 12 year old' look. In addition, unless it's a special occasion, I usually just throw on whatever comes to hand first. Yep, I'm a scruffy fucker and I'm currently wearing flared corduroy's and a flannel shirt but hell, I'm fucking comfy.

I'm the lead in the sense that I'm the only guy who knows what he's doing. Before they had one guy and a copy of Publisher. I took over from him last month and now he is my underling. So, I'm re-designing their website (currently a shambles) and their logo (good, but not print ready) and publications (leaflets, fliers, banners, posters, advertising etc).
And there's a huge problem with immigrants being forcibly extracted from their homes in the area I'm working. It's pretty much smash and grab stuff. The groups is for:
- For the right to asylum and for Britain to uphold it's commitments under the United Nations 1951 Geneva Convention.
- For the right to work for asylum seekers. No to forced labour.
- For a just and fair legal process for asylum seekers
- For decent housing, income and welfare rights for all; against the separation of welfare & housing of asylum seekers - no to asylum apartheid.
- For the right of asylum seekers and their communities to self defence, for example, for the right to physically resist being forced onto a plane, or to resist snatch squads.
and against:
