anyway, this excerpt was taken from an article about a woman who was raped, had her toddler son BEATEN to death (I mean, as we all here know rape is immensely hilarious, but beating a toddler to death is simply unfathomable) in front of her and then subsequently imprisoned for her uppity ways:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say all religion is a load of fucking bollocks pandering the good old human nature of loving and argument, starting a fight, preaching it was the right thing to do afterwards, making up and doing it all over again.
I hate religion. I like belief, I think I'm pretty spiritual but to use it as a mechanism for war, to hide a web of corruption spanning the globe... I'm never buying into it, religion is sheep. The bible describes it well, people who follow Jesus are his flock of sheep. Personally, I don't want to be a member of anybody's flock, Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Buddha or any other self righteous historical pillock.

I always felt bad for muslim women who had to wear the hijab and the long sleeved ankle length long over-gown who came into the hospital for something.
98+ degrees (plus the awful humidity).
I used to ask them, 'aren't you too hot?' They would tell me they were but couldn't take their hijab off. Some muslim woman did actually faint in the parking lot one time. Her husband was with her. When the ER staff rushed out to her, her husband seemed more worried that the male doctor would try to take her hijab off than he was that his wife received treatment.

Of course there is only one big fundamentalist religion around to day that are big enough asshats to cheer for suicide bombers who target civilians. And their creed backs them up. There are plenty of passages in the Koran that advocate acts like that. Now before anyone gets bent out of shape and starts quoting violent passages from the bible, just try and think for a second. The bible isn't the same in christianity as the koran is in Islam. The center of christianity is the teachings of jesus, which are in the bible. Most of the rest is stories traditions history etc. The Koran is a guidebook for life. Everything in it is something Mo (the most perfect person) did or said which makes all of the actions in it something you can do and you should strive to do. Now many islamic scholars will argue that the more peaceful verses are more important, and the violent ones (or the ones advocating having and or raping slaves) are not longer important. Unfortuantely many don;t argue this school of islam. 90% of the monsy spent on new mosques, madrassas, and teaching aids comes out of Saudi, which hardly practices a more moderate form of islam.

The adamant moslems need to go fuck themselves. Some muslims are ok. I have a pen-pal in Iran. Did you know that Iran has a space program? I didn't, but I do now, because I have someone "on the inside." That makes me almost like a spy agency, except she's not just telling me this, she's sending me newspaper clippings about it, so I assume it's common knowledge that I'm just now discovering. That being the case though, it's still cool to get a letter from Iran. I wonder how many times it was read before it got to me, or how many times my letter was read before it got to her?
That's a good idea, I'm going to waste the next hour or so pondering that.
