They think long necks on women are attractive. They slowly keep adding rings. Over the years their neck stretches. (Remember the mother in Evil Dead 2?) Eventually, they get so that if they take off the rings their head flops over and they suffocate. It's sort of like foot binding. Long necks and small feet. Very sexy.
