I know this isnt probably the most popular place ask this question, being a serious writers forum and all - but does anyone know of somewhere on the inet where i can 'borrow' ebooks still in copyright?
friggin sony store wont let me join as im not a US resident...
Alternatively if anyone wants to give me their and credit card number linked to that address, that would be pretty useful as well

even people 5 years ago who liked to own the cd and flick through the pissy little book that comes with it rather than going digital.
---------------------
Small clarification... CD's do contain digital data. EPs/LPs/cassette tapes all contain analog data.
That being said, anyone who puts down technology with their sole argument being "I just love to sit down with a book" is small-minded egocentric douche.
The world is moving fast and it's a threatening thing to those who can't handle it.

You know what could entirely eliminate your problem?

Kindle has only got the advantage in its wireless internet being everywhere, but it can't get the entire internet. Also, they ARE planning to go international in the coming months. Look into it before you shit yourself.

yeh i remember cunts back in the 90s who would refuse to get a mobile phone because they were only for business wankers - even people 5 years ago who liked to own the cd and flick through the pissy little book that comes with it rather than going digital.

I don't see it taking off over here for a damn long time. I think that only wankers business men in London would want one; personally I love sitting down and reading a book, and I wouldn't want to lose that. As for Apple making a reader, sounds great, but they should shoot Steve Jobs so he can't give a fucking keynote about it, obsequious prick that he is.

well it supports pdf, thus my question about a place to steal books... the reader is shit - no search functionality, no highlighting and notes but its better than a backpack full of heavy books
apple better hurry the fuck up with their reader

Huh, once again Sony has created something with shitey proprietary file formats and it's on PC only. I can really see why you'd want one of these.
