The question, I'm afraid, is too vague for a definite answer. What do you mean by "miss anyone?" Miss bicyclists on a country road? Insurgents observed from a sniper position? Are you referring to that pseudo-emotion to which people subject themselves in a pathetic effort to flatter the deceased? Or the self flagellation of the rejected party in a failed romance? Is the question intentionally vague so that the respondents' interpretations of it can be analyzed, providing some insight into their psychological makeup? Is this a sort of written Rorschach test designed to glean the emotional fragility of the respondents? Or is it just a lame attempt to kick-start another teary emo fag-fest? Memorial Day was last weekend.

I used to love her,
But I had to kill her
I knew I'd miss her
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my backyard

and no Holly, not to shut up, but to accept that having a whinge is a standard human characteristic. We all like to have a grumble from time to time. Just nod, smile and put a cup of tea on for the person who is having a rant and most things get sorted out.

I miss someone. But I try not to think about it. No good comes of sitting and crying in the corner whilst drinking brandy straight from the bottle. To easily done, but then I would miss the people I have around me who are still here.

You're probably not a burden to people Holly. You may be occasionally over dramatic, but that's not such a bad thing now is it? People adapt to it. They'll roll their eyes and say 'oh Holly is off on one again, someone buy her a glass of wine and she'll settle down in a minute'

I'm of the philosophy that you should focus on the things you can control and accept the things you can't.

I can't quite recall the author the study, but I read once how americans tend to say if they have a great game that it was their skill, and if they are awful, then it was bad luck. The chinese were the opposite.

I don't think either approach is healthy, (and the simplistic cultural stereotyping is admittedly crude), but maybe there is a kernel of truth in this.

I don't keep many friends when I move, change schools, jobs or whatever. I might see them sometime, but it's like seeing the indiana jones movie. Your memories are better than the reality.

a lot of times I miss people that never existed. Did they ever care? Why am I worried about it when the answer is obvious? I would never do this to a friend.

what i want to know is if it was me that took from them, or they who took from me. I hope it's the latter.
