well, i'm back from the sandbox. what a trip it was. i must say i had a great time for about the first month, but the rest of the time was shit.
have you ever seen over 100 tons of munitions exploding all at once? i have and it's glorious. the shockwave feels like a train going through you. someone remind me to post a picture of it if you want to see it.

well, i just stopped in to say hi. i'd have written something more witty and entertaining but i am stone cold sober right now. that, and i was never all that witty and entertaining in the first place. i'm getting ready to go take care of this sober stuff, but first i'm stopping by Guitar Center because the smokin' hot chick that helped me when i bought the amp just called and asked me to stop back in and i don't think it's because she wants to talk about the warranty on the head unit. thank god, i haven't had any pussy for three months...

i may take you up on that, skrap. my sister just moved back to Daytona and she wanted me to come visit. and i may be down there on business soon. either way, i go to Florida a couple times a year lately and i'd love to play that guitar and learn a little about making one from the master.
by the way, the Parker is the most amazing guitar i've ever played, hands-down. i would recommend one to anyone that wants a break from your usual strats or les pauls. i took a chance and ordered one without playing it and i must say, because it was set up professionally before it was shipped, it got to my doorstep in perfect form. not a single adjustment was needed. i can make any sound i want with the Parker, combined with the JSX half stack. the Parker is so versatile by itself, but so is the JSX. i can reproduce almost any sound out there. my only complaint is that the custom wound DiMarzios are TOO sensitive, but that's not exactly a bad thing. and i love the piezo system in it. it comes with a stereo cable so i can combine the piezo with a nice single coil or humbucker sound.

that parker looks pretty and im sure it plays nice but the headstock looks like it'd snap off with heavy strings!

it's reinforced with carbon fiber, so it can handle some heavy strings! and it's got Sperzel locking tuners and i must say, they are the absolute greatest tuners i have ever seen. i left the thing sitting for 3 months and came back and it was in absolute perfect tune still. and the custom tremolo system is amazing. it snaps back to perfect tune every time. i couldn't believe it when i first started messing with it.
so what would you recommend for someone that is looking for a Strat, but doesn't want to spend over a grand? i really think i want a Strat to be my next guitar. that, or an Ibanez RG550.

well, my LP is basically like a Squire because it was made to be a cheaper version of a reputable guitar, but my LP is pretty quality, so it's different than buying a Squire.
i bought the Epiphone at a time when i couldn't justify spending the money on the Gibson because i wasn't serious about playing and i just wanted it to mess around with.
now that Gibson is starting to make some less gay colors for their Robot guitar, i'm thinking about buying one of those. a friend of mine got one and said it's fucking awesome.
anyway, the Parker i'm holding in my hands in that picture makes me forget all other guitars exist while i'm playing it. i think it was modeled after the harps angels play in heaven because it's like a dream in my hands.

hey skrap! you're a Peavey fan too, huh? man, this amp sounds unbelievable. it can sound like any style you play and the best part is the clean channel is the most crystal clear sound i've ever heard out of an amp, so using pedals through it is fucking sweet. i'm never satisfied with an amp's distortion channels, but this one got it right. plug into the high gain channel and switch to Ultra and switch on the Fat selector and it fucking CRUNCHES. and it's got a noise gate. fucking awesome.
i'm so happy to finally have time to play my Parker. that is the sweetest guitar i have ever held in my hands. that, combined with the JSX, make me sound like a professional and not the hack guitar player i really am!

i can buy a Gibson today if i want. i can buy ten of them right now. i choose not to. 99.9% of people don't really understand the difference between a Gibson LP and an Epiphone LP.
Epiphone is NOT a guitar company Gibson created to make cheaper knock-offs of it's guitars, either- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphone
people say that the difference between an Epiphone LP and a Gibson one is the superior materials used for the Gibson. that's only partly true. a Gibson usually has better pickups for example. or the cheaper Grover tuners that are on my Epiphone. people say cheaper wood is used for Eps and therefore you don't get the tone you get on a Gibson. i'll tell you what though- i can't tell a difference. i love my Epiphone. it sounds awesome and it's a beautiful guitar. i paid a lot for mine and i really can't tell a difference between playing it and a Gibson. i think you're mostly paying more for Gibsons because they are made in America where the labor is much more expensive.

The specs say something like 120 watts. My old Fender Twin Reverb had four 6L6s in push-pull parallel and was rated at 100 watts. The Peavey has about a bajillion tone settings; the Twin was sheer, raw power. The coolest part of the twin was the spring coil reverb unit. Kick the amp lightly and the "crash" was awesome!
