I walk across the floor
feet stiking, toes opening
cool air on my ankles
the first few steps of morning

and i see you
sleeping, mouth agape
i push down on your chest
with my palms

lilies and monarchs flow from your lips
they hit the ceiling and rain down
upon my back and as your eyes open
the room turns green like emeralds
all around
and i remove my hands
and i step away from you
not sleeping
but awake
like me
