This is a follow on from a post i made yesterday entitled 'The Facts of Life' you can find it here:

I wrote this post as an experiment in human nature. It could not have worked any better.
After conducting research into the most slated posts i had to choose a format for mine. It was a toss up between 'I hate this or that' posts and 'Interesting facts' posts. I chose the 'Interesting facts' format as it seemed to be almost universally hated and it afforded me the opportunity to have some fun making up absolutely rubbish facts.
As you can see from the initial post the facts i posted are totally untrue (N.B. Fact 10. is a particular favourite of mine)
My interest lay in the response this post elicited. Initially i was looking at the first response of the 'reviewer' - without any input or 'retal' from the author.
Within five minutes i was rewarded with this gem:

What a result! I have already created feelings of discontent amongst the learned readers of Ubersite!
What is interesting about this post is that although there are similarities between my post and the post entitled 'Totally Useless Facts' (namely they both contain facts), there is no replication or 'copy & paste' involved.
"Please die" - now that is an interesting way to finish a review of a writer's work. I am interested to find out why someone would feel the need to wish death on someone on the basis of an internet posting.
I believe this person is the typically opinionated internet 'poster'. They exibit behaviour similar to that seen in 'hardlne' racists and bigots. The mentality of 'I don't like it, so please die' is classic xenophobia (a fear of something different).
Another phenomenon i witnessed in my research was the display of another type of O.C.Desq behaviour. That of the 'spelling police':

Yet another fantastic response. It almost seems that i have personally offended this 'reviewer' with a spelling mistake deliberately inserted as part of the post. The condescending overtone of the post is apparent and the 'superiority complex' of an experienced Ubersite user comes through heavily.
Another type of behaviour exibited by the 'reviewers' of my post was that of the 'pack mentality'.
My posting handle was subjected to a number of offensive variations bounced between experienced users for their amusement, all of which can be viewed on the initial post. The mentality of the 'schoolyard bully' picking on the 'new kid' was also apparent:

What result from your 'experiment' were you expecting? That Uber would respond exactly as it does every time a similar post is thrown up? And it did - imagine that. The point I think you are missing, poster of this post, is that in real life there are ways to let someone know when you think they are a boring tool. Possibly more subtle than you got yesterday like, a heavy sigh, lack of eye contact, or even going so far as to say something like "You are boring, you tool."

Good good Blah blah. My little test was so clever and insightful. I have given criticism over this because it was done in a pathetic and juvenile way that was never going to actually produce any worthwhile results.
It was bullshit and it proved nothing because you are still none the wiser due to the fact you have no idea as to how your target audience act in real life. The only way this would prove anything is if you actually did go away and kill yourself like the pathetic little weasel you come across as. Still it is but an internet persona saying this.

Or maybe I could write a story about an online scientist who sets traps in Internet forums to monitor online reactions compared to real-life reactions. He starts by drawing up a hypothesis - decides the manner of his spoof post, creates a few wild statements and inserts subtly placed spelling errors.
Once the trap is set, he waits. Fingers poised. Brow dripping with beads of expectant sweat. Heart pounding in giddy anticipation of the shockwaves he is about to create. That's right, read my lies, he thinks to himself.
Then it comes. -2DIE flashes up on his screen, and he grunts involuntarily. He clenches a pencil 'twixt his clammy fingers and enters the data in his jotter, with trembling poise. They have fallen for it. They are over-reacting. They are pawns in his game, mere mice compared to his monstrous intellect.
The insults come thick, and fast. The scientist initiates phase two - interaction. He picks on a few users, the alpha figures, the dominant members of this most brutal of packs. They devour his placed ignorance like pigs in a trough. The data mounts up. Soon, he will have his conclusion...
As the comments begin to slow, the scientist leans back and lets out a deep, satisfied groan. He can still read the words, and the names...Ltap (tick)...LittleBint (tick)...he has pwned them all. His screen still flickers with the awful request: 'PLEASE DIE', barely visible beneath the hot, sticky spunk that dribbles down the monitor.

I work with the families of suicide victims to help them cope with the sudden and sometimes violent loss of a loved on in their lives.
As i have stated before, there is a growing trend of online bullying stepping over the line and spilling into real life. With the revolution of social networking sites, many young people especially have no need for 'real friends' as they can carry out all interaction 'online'. Thus when online bullying becomes an issue it can have terrifying effects. There has recently been a spate of suicides amongst young people that can be attributed to online bullying.
I am looking at how a persons persona changes when they have the 'cover' of the internet to make comments that they may not make in a face to face situation.

Well if my friends did try and pass off some very blatant crap as 'Fact' I may well tell them to fuck off and die. The fact of weather I meant it is a completely different thing, but it wont stop the fact that I did say it.
You see the problem with this little 'Online' experiment Bulls is that you cant see any of us. You cant actually monitor our facial expressions or anything physical about us. All you have to go on is words on a page which dont really say all that much on their own.
I could type 'Go fuck your mother with a splintered oar' here but what would that really mean in your little 'My Fisher Price First Online Experiment' test? Nothing is the answer, because it's words and to be honest I could be smiling, laughing, gurning, fuming or anything, but you would never know. Which kind of makes this whole thing rather pointless.

I don't doubt that it has happened but i have discussed the outcome and types of behaviour at work. I have not just ended it with a "this was a joke, you are all gay" sweeping statement.
I have a genuine interest in human behaviour and how it changes between 'real life' and 'online', i am fairly certain the majority of the comments left 'online' yesterday would not have been made in a face to face situation.
There is a growing trend in the U.K. of online bullying stepping into 'real life' with disturbing consequences. I was merely exploring the 'online' response.

Hahaha Yes I'm an experienced user, I think I have ben here about 2 months if that. Also you didn't offend me at all little boy, I was just pointing out that if you post only 10 lines you could at least make sure that they are spelt correctly. Seeing as the typo you made actually made the particular sentence you wrote say something entirely different to what you meant it just makes you look even more idiotic than most of the users here, and surely you've read what they have said.
Any thank you for copy pasting my comment it fills me with a warm glow that you continue your theme of being a bit of a useless wally.

This was an experiment in human nature and i believe i have shown that. The retaliatory -2s were conducted to elicit a greater response, and explore the 'punishment scale' i refered to.
I do not doubt the intellegence of the users of this site and i engaged in a petty arguement with sub-standard retorts in order to glean the greatest reponse regarding what i like to call 'the noob effect'. The instant dismissal of a 'noob' as inexperienced, and therefore the subject of ridicule.
Obviously i can't please everyone and i re-iterate that these are only my thoughts.

What result from your 'experiment' were you expecting? That Uber would respond exactly as it does every time a similar post is thrown up? And it did - imagine that. The thing is, you responded to the comments exactly like any 'experimenter' would not, by getting all petulant and leaving retaliatory -2s on a a few of the reviewers' posts. You missed mine, but I bet it won't take you long to rectify that now.
So right here I'm calling this post another lie. You weren't doing an experiment, you actually thought what you wrote was entertaining. It was not, and you failed. This post, which is but an attempt to laugh off the last one, fails only slightly less in that it is a bit entertaining. Sacrilicious nailed it on your last post:

You notice in life that there are people who often say things like "all other people are wankers" or "I hang around with rubbish people, whenever we talk about anything it turns into a fight" and the like. The problem these people have is that they are abrasive or simply lack social skills.
In other words; they're rubbish.
There's no great conspiracy on Uber and your attempt to distance your emotional involvement with this 'experiment' is woefully transparent.
