Muddling through my pictures because its late, because it is still abnormal Amozonian temperatures here and I still can't sleep - 5 days and counting./.
I remember this night as the best organised night to fuck up in all history. I'd been planning it for months. New Years Eve and for a change we were all going to celebrate even if I had to put everybody on intravenous drips of pure joy to make it happen. I was sick of New Year's Eve being a complete non-event.
I organised a night at the Hyena Comedy Club in Newcastle fully loaded with 5 course meal and promising comedy acts. It was not to be.....
My boyfriend and our much loved Hurty took it upon themselves to hoover poweder from the coffee table until the small hours the night before New Years Eve leaving them a sorry pair of degenerates. Normally I would have joined in the fun but I'd came down with the most heinous flu I have ever lived through.
Nonetheless, I was determined. I grabbed my friend and we crusaded into Newcastle for some last minute outfit accessories. Dying all the way around the shops I didn't stop until I had all that I needed. We returned to the flat to find boyfriend and Hurty pretty much passed out and cantankerous. You know when you just know things are not meant to be?
Friend and I got dressed and eventually managed to whip the boys arses into to some semblance of life. We even managed to secure a taxi to the Comedy Club.
And this is about all I remember besides snapshots...
I remember the food was rank...
My feet hurt wearing stupid shoes.
I remember drinking an obscene amount of Vodka red bull.
I remember saying overly loudly that the comedian on stage was shit and he should just fuck off and die. A woman leant over from behind me, told me to behave and that he was her husband. They then sat at our table for awhile.
I remember going into the toilets and ripping the zip to the back of my dress. This was followed by uncontrollable tears, me sitting in the corner of the toilets totally inconsolable as my mate tried to rearrange me into a fit state to emerge from the toilets.
This is about all I remember...
RIP Hurty because I think this picture is fuckin' awesome and I think you'll enjoy resurrecting yourself. THANKS FOR A FUCKING SHIT NIGHT DOUCHEBAG!

Actually, deaf people CAN 'hear' if by 'hear' you mean detect vibration.
I remember playing in a football game against a team that was 100% deaf (school for deaf kids).
They used a big bass drum as the indicator for time outs and other events.
When people go deaf they basically lose the ability to detect vibrations above a certain frequency. That threshold varies according to the severity of hearing loss.
How do I know this?
I dated a girl for about a year who was completely deaf in one ear.

Example: dolphins sounding underwater. The molecules in the water 'carry' the vibrations the dolphins emit and, because water is so much more dense than air, sound travels farther.
I imagine birds have some sort of sensor that picks up on vibrational distortion but again, I don't know exactly how.
