8mg every 8 hours is the normal dosage during bouts of chemotherapy. 4mg every 4 hours makes sense since it is being used palliatively.

Actually, you're all wrong. It is used to treat nausea/vomiting from many causes. I give it many times every single night to people that don't have cancer. I have a bottle of it in my medicine cabinet, and I don't have cancer. People with cancer usually get stronger drugs for nausea, Zofran/Ondansetron doesn't work well enough for them.
