This my dog, Toby.
He's an 80-lb Belgian Sheepdog that's scared of cups, the fridge, the vacuum, brooms (but not red ones), silver tea-spoons, empty NyQuil bottles, his water bowl, bananas, and grass-clippings.
Every morning I get up and find him sleeping up against a corner, and every day when I get back home he's waiting for me on the couch. The second I get home, pet him, and give him some food, he goes back to his corner and sleeps happily.

That's highly likely. I've seen my fair share of old-blind women point at him and scream something or other about Hellbeast and Demonic Wolfhound, but then they mysteriously disappear the following morning...
