Here is a list of movies I have watched recently, most of which were complete crap. I've had digital cable and the movie network for over 4 years now but only since getting a PVR(DVR/Tivo) have I actually took advantage of the movie channels. Now I will pretty much record anything that sounds remotely interesting that shows up on the HD movie channel. By the time a movie shows up on the movie channel it is already about a year old, but since I rarely go to the theatre they are still new to me.
Don't expect anything overly profound or stimulating here, just some half-assed reviews to kill some time before I can go home...
Black Snake Moan:
Well, the movie was pretty uneventful...however it starts with Christina Ricci naked! That's a definite bonus since her oddly shaped head and bug eyes are in stark contrast to her fantastic body! Samuel L Jackson is his usual self here, nothing more nothing less. Justin Timberlake "acting" requires a major point deduction, but thankfully the music in the film is pretty decent. Some good blues tunes, The Black Keys have a great song featured here (as an aside, I saw them at Lollapalooza this year and they rocked Chicago). All in all the movie wasn't too bad I guess, did end rather abruptly though.
Weirdville:
This movie is complete shit, plain and simple. This movie really had nothing going for it. I couldn't even get halfway into this movie before I had to stop and delete it. Prime example of Canadian film at it's finest!
Epic Movie:
This should go without saying but...EPIC FAIL!
I thought that maybe this movie could get some cheap laughs in the same stupid way Anchorman did...no such luck!
Even a few cute chicks couldn't make this movie palatable.
Shooter:
This is a typical Mark Wahlberg action movie. But in typical fashion, it was still entertaining even if it didn't have much substance. Wahlberg as the typical good guy, someone turns on him, he kicks some ass, gets the girl. Lather, rinse, repeat. Fairly entertaining movie all around I suppose, hottie Kate Mara helped though.
I know who killed me:
This should also go without saying but...WORST MOVIE EVAR!
At least I could get through this entire movie, but then I just hated myself for it. I do have to give the movie credit though, no other movie in my life has insulted my intelligence so much! You could just tell that the writers actually thought they were so clever with all the *subtle* foreshadowing and *surprise* ending! Ugh! The whole blue vs red thing was so fuckin pathetic I was violently angry by the end of the movie! A whole scene where LITERALLY everything in the shot is blue!? THE FUCK?! Ok ok, I'm getting all worked up again...let's move on.
Pigs:
The description sounded interesting enough, "26 girls. 26 letters in the alphabet. 1 campus legend." But when I saw that I didn't recognize a single actor in it, I didn't have high expectations. With the exception of having one hot chick in the movie, it was pretty bland. Even had the now stereotypical American Pie "Stiffler" character. Think of it as a low budget remake of American Pie. Meh!
The Pursuit of Happyness:
Fairly good movie, solid acting by Will Smith...nothing bad I can say about this movie. It did seem to end rather suddenly, but not necessarily a fault. Plus, "Homer" was in it...HOMER! Bonus points given.
...uhhh...I know there are more but I just can't think of them right now...just about ready to go home anyways.
and with that -2, I'm heading home for a much needed nap.

Black Snake Moan is a fucking awesome film. If you put your hand over Tiberlake while he's on screen it's even better.
i like how he plays a bit of a faggot though, bet it didn't take much to get into character.

I watched In Bruges yesterday. It is possibly the most awesome film I have seen in quite some time. Original script, dark humour, amazing characters and a beautiful film. If there's a film I would recommend watching, its this one.
I like the Pursuit of Happyness.
