1. When I was in Grade 1 they wanted to skip me ahead two years. Shortly after finding out, I got into a bike accident that left me incapable of movement for 2 months. I stayed in the same class and ended up dropping out of school at 16 because I was bored. I haven't been on a bike since.
2. I moved out of my mom's place at 14, got a part time job, rented a room and stayed in school for a bit. Things were easier after I dropped out and could work full time. However, it was the hardest 2 years of my life and I would never reccomend anyone do that. Ever.
3. I have a 3 year old son who is autistic. I'm terrified that I will fuck him up and he'll be an invalid who lives with me until I die. Everyone says I can do this, but I fucking hate that they don't have to. Thankfully, my fear motivates me to take him to intensive behavioural therapy 25 hours a week. They say he'll be capable of living a normal life. I still have nightmares.
4. I have a huge dog that never listens. I love her like a child and frequently spend days with her and my son, talking to both of them. Neither talk back. I may be crazy.
5. My parents divorced when I was 7. My dad drank all the time. My mom was kind of a slut.
I remember going to my dad's every weekend and listening to him babble on about nothing. He would get super intense and beg me to love him forever. I told him I would if he stopped drinking. He continued. Eventually he rolled his car and ended up in the hospital. He then quit after I told him I would never see him again. It's been over 10 years, he's still sober. I'd still walk away if he drank.
6. I left my husband after 5 years for no good reason. I have issues with marriage and commitment, I was stupid to do it and I will likely never marry again. There's no hard feelings between us and I hope there never is.
7. My mom dated alot of guys when I was a kid. One was very controlling and liked to yell at us kids when he thought we weren't listening to my mom. He also threw things at her when he was pissy. Once when she was at work he came over and me and my sisters beat him with baseball bats. He dumped her and we haven't heard from him since.
8. I read a disgusting amount. I have a literal library in my room and have read every book in it. I buy about 10 books a week. Now, they are mostly related to autism, but I still have a 'fun' reading list.
9. I have very few close friends and hundreds of aquaintences. I tend to keep everyone at a good distance. I have no idea why. It's really hard for me to make small talk and continue a conversation with people I don't know.

1. In regards to #3, plenty of people have "normal" children that are worthless and never leave home and sponge off them for the rest of their lives.
That's very true, but I want to make sure he's CAPABLE of taking care of himself. I can choose if I want to boot him out or not :P
ANd I've never understood people who let their 'children' sponge off of them, I worked my ass off for all I have and I couldn't imagine life if people just gave me shit.
2. What's your mom's phone number?
1-900-old-whore
3. "I left my husband after 5 years for no good reason." [and] "There's no hard feelings between us..." Just as well - there's something wrong with this guy - trust me.
I think maybe yes. I swear not a day after I wrote this, he called me 45 times in 5 hours. I was on a date with an old flame. Apparently word gets around.

I am kind of 'unpleasant'. However, I must say I'm one of the most loyal people you'll ever meet. So I'm not much worried about it.

It ain't MY generation...MY generation was the one before this last one that has nothing but fucked up family lives.
I was thinking that exact same thing yesterday on another 9,10 or 11 tiny true stories, I think it was Sage104.
I feel kind of sorry for all those having a shitty youth.
Now I'm going to liste to My generation.
Goodluck with your kid.

I'm not in my 50's.
The senility and erectile dysfunction deals are just an act.

Oh, and I can add that my girlfriend doesn't have a "dysfunctional family", as you put it. However, they're Mormon, which really makes them more creepy than refreshing.

You're in your 50's right?
I ask because my father is.
It's all starting to make sense...

Apparently your generation isn't good at that whole raising their spawn thing, Shlongy.
In their defense, my father and his side of the family are great, and perfectly normal.
