I legitimately cannot fathom why anyone would vote for this pair of clown shoes.

I don't hate them. I just think they're ill equipped to lead this nation.
You, however... I'm sending you mind-daggers right now.

1. Stop being the Planet Police. Pack up and leave every single out-of-US-territory military installation immediately. Burn the installations, leave no useable supplies or materiel, bring the troops home now. They will be needed to...
2. Stop allowing our system to be raped by people who do not belong here. Illegal aliens do not have any rights in this country whatsoever, except the right to leave voluntatily before being deported or 'killed trying to escape capture'. Joe Chardonnay - learn to operate your own lawn mower if your lawn guy doesn't want to get legal.
3. Stop relying on foreign energy sources. In exchange for 100% profit reinvestment in alternative energy source research (such as full-spectrun-efficient solar cells and Obama's magic batteries) for the next 5 years, allow oil companies to drill where we know there's oil. Build up the Strategic Reserve.
4. Build cookie-cutter nuclear power plants and get them online. The US Navy is loaded with people ready-trained and experienced to operate them. If Greenpeace protests their construction, they can complain from under the cooling towers.
5. Make examples of any individual or group who attacks us. Words don't count as an attack.

We certainly agree on a lot of points, but McCain isn't exactly on board with your 5 points.
1. I agree. However, not having strategic locations around the world from which to launch a necessary attack is foolish, as is leaving a vacuum of power in these areas. Completely aside from that, McCain is wearing a Team America, fuck yeah shirt on under his suit. He's got the proverbial 10,000 year plan for Iraq while ignoring Afghanistan and Iran. That's not only NOT bringing the troops home, it's also poorly managing them. Obama plans to give a timeframe, make the Iraqis step up, and roll out to deal with more threatening areas. Fucking Al Qaeda isn't even in Iraq.
2. Neither candidate has proposed any kind of plan to change a single thing about how we deal with illegal aliens.
3. Until about 3 months ago, McCain didn't even HAVE a plan for alternative energy. All he kept talking about was drilling Alaska to alleviate oil prices. Not only have prices plummeted with decreased demand, but drilling Alaska won't have any effect on the market for at least 10 years. Sure, we need to do it, but to not have a plan in place for the future until you realize your opposition has one is just fucking stupidity. That's the biggest problem I have with McCain. For all intents and purposes, it seems he plans to run this country exactly the way Bush has for the last 8 years and whenever someone asks him about an issue he hasn't addressed (like alternative energy or dealing with crazy ass terrorist nations with nukes) he's all, "Hm. What did Obama say he was going to do about that? Oh yeah, that sounds good. We'll do that."
4. Agreed, and this is the one point I will concede that McCain had an edge on Obama. Obama stutter-stepped with the whole "What do we do with the waste, though?" issue and it exposed how little he knew about it. Still, if we diverted how much we spent in a single year in Iraq on building wind farms and tide generators, we'd already have clean free energy and wouldn't need to talk nuclear.
5. No argument there, but I don't see what that has to do with McCain vs. Obama. Please point out any information you have on the matter.
My point is, the candidates seem to be talking a lot the same solutions to problems we're facing. I just feel that 1. McCain doesn't plan to get out of Iraq and that's just stupid. It's the most epic waste of money the world has ever seen. No, I don't expect to see the end of the Military Industrial Complex tomorrow, but willfully admitting that you plan to feed it for your entire Presidency is inexcusable. 2. Even the things McCain has said he wants to do that I agree on seem to be an afterthought or placating the public with no intent to deliver. 3. Even if McCain does deliver, Obama will get us there faster and feel free to change the plan when something isn't working. 4. I refuse to vote for a man so out of touch with the needs of the middle class American. How the fuck can you understand what it's like to have to take your daughter to the doctor and not be able to afford medicine because you've been forced to live paycheck to paycheck in a shitty economy when you can't remember how many fucking HOUSES YOU OWN? and 5. I will do NOTHING to risk ending up with bimbo Sarah Palin as the Manchurian Candidate leader of the free world being led around by rich old white Republican guys lining their pockets with never-ending self-serving politics. McCain is old. The worst pick he could have possibly made was Palin. Even people that love what McCain plans to do are terrified that he'll have a heart attack and leave that dippy broad in charge.

Who decided at some point that the image an American President should portray is that of a bumbling slack-jawed idiot? Bush is from motherfucking Connecticut and went to school at Yale. Where the fuck did a Southern accent and the use of "nuke-u-lar" come from? Someone somewhere at some time decided that the image that should be cultivated for this man is that of a semi-retarded cowboy. Ask yourself why and then ask yourself if you want gee golly gosh hockey mom a 72-year-old-man-aneurysm away from becoming arguably the most powerful person in the free world.

We will vote for them because we want to keep what we earn rather than giving it away to people who don't deserve it.

You're not keeping your money right now. You're not going to keep what you earn if McSame is elected, either. It's all going to keep going to Iraq where McCain plans to keep our military for the rest of the foreseeable future. So by that reasoning, the Iraqis deserve your money? Or are you just of the opinion that using our money to make sure honest hardworking Americans have medical care and affordable, renewable energy is not as good an idea as continually throwing it at a war we should have never started, tax breaks for big companies that have more money than they know what to do with, and bailing out lenders with shady business practices that get rich knowing a Republican administration safety net is always there. Wait wait...who's getting the money they don't deserve again? Funny, when it's "Joe Sixpack" getting taken care of, it's welfare or that bad nasty evil socialism.
-----
No, the Iraqis don't deserve what I earn either. I'm not going to argue the purpose of this war, but I will say it's clear that you don't understand that, if Obama is elected, they'll get even more of it than they're getting now, war or no war. As will Afghanistan, and Iran, and every other country he wants to appease with his spineless apologetic foreign policy platform. Obama will take every opportunity to make Americans who actually are productive members of society bear the burden of those who are not productive members of American society, even when those people aren't Americans. That's what he calls being a good Citizen of The World.
Are you foolish enough to believe that "we're only going to tax business and the rich" doesn't affect Joe Sixpack? Exxon won't get their $4B tax break. You don't think they'll lose money, do you? Really? No, the cost of a gallon of gas that Joe Sixpack has to buy will rise to cover it. Now it costs Joe another $5 a week to go to work. Does he make enough to buy a new $40,000 hybrid with magic non-existant batteries, even with the $1000 Obama gave him? Probably not. But wait! The tax burden on every company hasn't changed their responsibilities to their shareholders, so every single thing Joe buys costs more of tax-unaffected paycheck.
Net effect: Joe loses, companies stay the same, government grows even more parasitic on Joe, and America is weaker.
People such as myself, who pay income tax and property tax and every sort of tax the government can levy and yet are not a burden on the government services of welfare or Social Security or State medical insurance or State property insurance, we who have jobs and pay our bills, we are just tired of taking care of those who can't be bothered.
I don't care how it looks to the rest of the world; I say...
1. Stop being the Planet Police. Pack up and leave every single out-of-US-territory military installation immediately. Burn the installations, leave no useable supplies or materiel, bring the troops home now. They will be needed to...
2. Stop allowing our system to be raped by people who do not belong here. Because the Joe Sixpacks, Sally Soccermoms, and other disposable, expendable saps want to team up and tell corporate lobbyists "Yes, we will back another pair of whores because you've made them appear to be even dumber and more expendable than we are."
I can only imagine what the rest of the world will make of Palin and her newly found hick yokelness. If she ever says "say it ain't so, Joe" again, someone should slap the bitch.
