After reading this crap should i submit this letter:

http://www.briomag.com/briomagazine/reallife/a0006073.html

To whom it may concern:

Young people need acceptance and forgiveness from friends and family, submitting oneself to a higher power is as artificial as the commercials on television. It provides a quick and easy cleanse of feelings that lead to sickness, guilt and hurt. The idea that you would advertise the issue of teenage alcoholism and the connection with 'religion' sickens me beyond belief. It's an expression of the short sightedness of your faith and the lack of intuition that makes so many people turn to other forms of escapism. Issues of alcoholism cannot be resolved in a church environment, these are new issues based on peer social networks and catered rather clearly on the individual and the individuals desire to escape. Conforming to church and god is one of the few things that could possibly lead to a worsened person. When one is mentally askew or completely afraid by life and the world that follows, offering solutions of god is like offering a fairytale to a child. The situation will eventually grow, the child will mature, the alcoholic will despair at the fact that the central part of themselves is in disagreement with the peripheral that tries to accept ideas of god and religion. Whilst I admit that all beings of this earth accept and rationalise different forms of faith, considering them within themselves and trying to accept what makes them feel centred within their crazy universe. I see your answer as a blatant attempt, a falsification of knowledge that is based on ignorance and tired writings, that may do more damage in the long run than the obsessive consumption of alcohol it self.

In sort, I appreciate reading texts like this as it opens my eyes on the tricks this faith plays on its people, disregarding individualism, making an 'answer' plausible and creating something within a human being that is not at all innate.

Thank you.

Concerning your point: Nothing new here, nothing they haven't seen innumerable times. Let it go. If you want to help teenage alcoholics, turn off your computer and go volunteer at a clinic or hospital where they get treatment.

Concerning the letter: If you sent it to me, I'd post it on the wall in the office as an example of how not to be taken seriously. If you expect to even have your letter read for content by the group you're planning on sending to, you'll do well to proofread, spellcheck, and read it aloud before you send it.

Homer: And what if he's not? Then we'd look like idiots.
