A fair assesment. In the ENTIRE of Star Trek canon the only knob gag was in that Star Trek movie where Kirk punched that big chap in the goulies, so it certainly cannot be held up as a pinnacle of any genre.
Then again it is a series for children, so what can you expect?

Deep Space 9 was the best.
Well, at least untill they brought Warf the Space Nigger into it. Then the whole neighbourhood went to pot. Also the Ferengi were fun but when they had a whole episode to themselves the show became overly Jewish.
Honestly the whole thing was just one long look at how a black man achieves excellence by becoming one with the white man's culture. It was littered with highly charged racial themes; namely the genetic superiority of Julian Bashir and Captain Sisko united with the cultural superiority of the Federation triumphs over the forces of facism (Cardasians) and fundamentalism (Dominion).
Also the space battles were better than Babylon 5, which in all other respects is the pinnacle of 20th century entertainment.

First, you've replied with the anithesis of what this post is actually about.
B, as you've +2ed it, you indicate your delight to simply have an outlet for a subject you'd be persecuted for bringing up yourself, despite the creational motivations of this outlet.
Third... Sisko sucks and DS9 was the worst. I never liked anything Star Trek other than the movies, but of the shows, Sisko is the most one-dimensional, poorly acted captain, while DS9 failed due to a distinct absence of cyborgs, vulcans and starships.

Awesome! Picard is a better star fleet captain than Janeway. And its funny you should post this... I've just watched the whole final season of Voyager from Saturday afternoon to this afternoon. It has been a major geekathon over the weekend.
