Fuck "Joe the plumber". This guy is total bullshit for the following reasons.
1. He goes in front of television crews, makes a spectacle of himself and wonders why he is now under the scrutiny of the public.
You don't like the fact that its all over the news that you owe back taxes, Joe? Or that your "driver's license was suspended in May, 2000, following nonpayment of a court-imposed fine for civil traffic violations"? Then don't jump into the public arena by trying to play "gotcha!" with high profile public figures. Especially not when there are tons of cameras around.
2. He thinks that buying a company for 250,000 dollars means it will bring him an annual income of 250,000 dollars.
By now most of us have heard that Obama plans on giving a tax cut to anyone who makes less than 250,000 dollars annually. Good ol' Joe wanted to know why Obama would tax a hard working regular guy like him now that he has finally made it. Unfortunately for Joe, he didn't really understand what he was talking about. He didn't realize that the actual income this business would qualify him for an Obama tax cut.
What this means is now that McCain has made Joe a false symbol for the hard working small businesses being hurt by an Keynesian economic plans. He isn't being hurt by it and why should he be bitching about taxes when he won't even pay off his old ones? What about hard working people who have faithfully paid their taxes for the last eight years? Why shouldn't they get a break?
3. He thinks the biggest problem facing America today is that Social Security is forced upon its citizens.
Grand economic failures resulting from fundamental flaws, wars across the globe, extremely low approval of our elected officials, escalating racial and class tensions, and the worst this guy is aware of is that he has to pay into Social Security. Does he even know why there is a Social Security crisis? This person is too uninformed to have an opinion of value.

+2 for the title alone.
There's a lot of dumb-fucks out there who go around making false accusations without the facts only to have it blow up in their face. Joe the Dipshit did this in front of the national media, which I think is great.
For the dipshits reading this, learn from Joe's mistake... shut the fuck up.

Of course everyone has the right to ask an elected leader, or candidate for office a question regarding their policies, but to do so is to invite scrutiny. Thinking otherwise is naive. For example, if the mayor of my city was walking through my neighborhood, surrounded by news crews, its safe to assume that any exchange between he and I could potentially be televised. Once on TV, I know I could be mocked and/or ridiculed by the mayor, the media, and every jackass who saw it on TV or youtube or whatever. The point is, if you put you opinion into public, expect a reaction. And by the way, I have seen the video and whether he was playing in his yard or not, he was called there ready with a question. Obama didn't come out of nowhere and start grilling him. He clearly says, "Yes, you sir" like he's some sort of former Harvard law professor calling on someone with their hand raised.
Yes we should question authority. Maybe someone should be asking about the fairness of being in a particular tax bracket. How about this, why should I continue to finance the tax breaks of the wealthy? Why should we have a "socialist" state for the rich?

Saw a bumpersticker this morning that I would have considered a bit unlikely had I thought of it before seeing it. It was on an early 90's Camaro that was pretty faded and a bit beat up. Obviously not a rich guy's car or a rich guy's kid's car. The bumpersticker read "Estamos Unidos para McCain y Palin". Think maybe it was José el Fontanero?

Joe the Plumber had every right to ask Obama a question. I don't believe he asked for all of this attention. The McCain campaign is exploiting him. "So send Joe an email and tell him you're with him.." Who asked you, McCain?

It's pretty amusing to see Obama supporters complain about McCain supporters as being foolish or greedy or arrogant.

The US does have a capital gains tax that is separate from the income tax.
The thing with Obama being a "socialist" is that he said he wanted to "spread the wealth around". This of course is necessary to continue the consumption of goods. The problem with most laize faire economic theory is it assumes the wealthy will reinvest they're savings further growing the economy. However in practice they have mostly just hoarded it. An example of this is how during the Great Depression, Ford gave his son several million dollars worth of gold instead of investing it into Ford Motor Company. One may argue that he didn't have the demand to build more cars, since no one could afford them, but that was mostly due to the fact that wealthy industry owners such as himself didn't pay people enough to buy them. This happened just recently with the sub prime mortgage collapse.
Free Market capitalism has proven time and time again that it will result in the consolidation of wealth into very few hands, which causes massive poverty.
So government in the 30's had the bright idea to skim off the money from industry and give it back into the hands of the consumer to keep the whole cycle going.

I've been saying this all week. Joe and his 1/4 million dollars of net profit can blow me. I think you're probably right to assume that his business could probably be worth 250k, or even more, but it's pretty unlikely that he makes that kind of bank.
Furthermore, even if he did make that much, if he just hired another hardworking American and paid him enough to get down to even 249K, it would become eligible, correct? Forwarding these notions that Obama's a socialist and a terrorist and an Arab and a Muslim and a racist is...deplorable.

He thinks that buying a company for 250,000 dollars means it will bring him an annual income of 250,000 dollars. """
lol, when i watched that famous video of him talking to Obama i was like "whoa! they tax capital in america! wtf!?"
then i realized he was just some ass clown. are those tax reforms even applicable to business revenues?
truth is, there are very few individuals (not businesses) who have a taxable income adding up to 250k and more often than not, rich people all kinds of fiscal shelters.
but don't worry. we have those uneducated wannabe right wingers up here too who contribute very little throughtout their lives but who as soon as they move up into the lower end of the middle class, making like 40k, they act like bourgeoisie "DO NOT TOUCH MY HARD EARNED WEALTH, PROLETARIAN!"
fucking pathetic.
