(This is a repost... hoping Uber tweaked and not my file was too big - if so, I'll reply with a link to it)

I truly love where I live. Most young people, both in general and where I am, find a small city boring and something to escape from, especially with Cosmopolitan and exciting Vancouver just a few hours away, but not me. While I do love Vancouver (consistently ranked in the top 3 of the overall best, and consistently the 1st most beautiful, cities of the world) and could happily live there, I feel no desire to leave my hometown I've lived in for my entire life. Having left BC for the first time this Summer, other than having flown to distant locations, I can truly appreciate my Ontarian Father's declaration of how gloriously fortunate I have it to live here, and found nowhere else on a three month road trip, that even approaches the beauty and comfort I take for granted... though there are many fine places I saw. A Belgian girl I worked with whose family travels the world, whose been to every continent and near every biome, said coastal BC is hands down the most stunning and beautiful place she's ever been; better than the South Pacific, anywhere in Europe (though Switzerland and Italy are amazing, North America (New England is nice and 2nd best here), Australia, Japan or any Southeast Asian country. I don't say this to suggest I'm luckier, better or happier than you and in fact suspect everyone loves their own personal home and lives more than any other potential ones, but simply to accurately preface why it is I think you'll enjoy (most) of what I have to show.

You may think I'm biased because I'm a nature lover, which I am, but I'd like to point out I'm only so because one from here must be a nature lover, just as Italians must be pasta and otherwise-mouth watering food lovers. When you are surrounded by the best of something, it makes you a lover and fan of it by its own quality, and isn't a passion you hold simply because you're predisposed to it.

I was unaware that wherever there wasn't society, there wasn't necessarily huge, densely packed trees, that most trees elsewhere I could wrap one arm around, that lush and omnipresent ferns, mosses, fungi, deer and owls and are considered "exotic" (which I actually laughed out loud at when told so while visiting Yellowstone), how nice to never be more than fifteen minutes from the open ocean, how accommodating and consistently enjoyable all our seasons are, just how bountiful and premium our pot is and how reasonable and courteous the police are (once got caught hotboxing my car with too many passengers and a learner's license, only to be told things would "go well" if I just handed over the pot, which I did, before being told I could keep my pipe, which was "nice", to just drive straight home. My car or myself weren't searched, when I put my hands in my pockets he didn't care and when I crinkled a jolly rancher wrapper in my pocket he asked if it was just some munchies, which he didn't bother to confirm, and after giving him one, I simply drove off... when in California smoking ONE joint with some people, and not in possession of anything myself, found myself suddenly surrounded by several cop cars, being screamed at to "Get on the fucking ground!", while guns were aimed at me and several officers lunged on top of me, as I was the only one who didn't immediately jump a fence and was 'naïve' enough to actually start to lay down.).

The Following are pictures of the common things in my life, of just myself, my town, a specific public park two minutes from my house, a walk I went on through the woods five minutes from my house and of just random tidbits and curios that'll compensate for the other content I'm sure you have no interest in.

Again, this isn't about why I'm better than anyone, which I'm not, and with photos to prove it. Everywhere has a unique defining trait that's marked as the best example of that quality in the world, and I believe that an objective observation would reach the same conclusion of my personal experience in acknowledging that British Columbia is the most naturally beautiful and geographically comfortable place in the world.

This is simply about me hoping you can appreciate why I've come to love what I love, yourself coming to enjoy what it is that I love, and maybe reflect on what is in your life that makes your home special and that you wouldn't change for the world.

Enjoy!

(I've got a tonne of other photos from my road trips and other generalisms that I'll post later without extensive and presumptuous text)

Good God...It's the Tooth Fairy...Minus the Tooth.

------------

From your posts, you seem intelligent. From your replies, you seem miserable and angry. From your name, you seem like a football loving, post-football shower loving, hummer driving fag hater who hated how he loved going to his Church's Summer Camp as a kid and who loves hating how he thinks everyone else shares his belief that his obsession with phalli indicates his own confidence of the size of his, and certainly not a more otherwise manifestation of other personality traits.

So as you do seem intelligent, when you -2 my posts, at least put some thought into the insult. That's all I ask.

Um, can you send me some of that bud?

-----------

No, but you can ask anyone on the streets after 9 PM outside of Vancouver and anyone in a hoodie on the streets any time in Vancouver.

If that's a real sign, that's hilarious.

And wtf was in that Russian fish can? (...besides teeth ?!...)

-------------

Someone put that sign up and the city left it there for a few months before taking it down.

I'm from BC too, as you can probably tell from my name. I love BC and most of the towns but I find Vancouver itself to be highly overated. I'm not a big city person but as far as cities go I far prefer Seattle to Vancouver.

Which town are your pictures from?

------------

... You're not from Spuzzum. No one on the internet is; they don't believe in internet connections.

My friend told me about when he went through Spuzzum on a past roadtrip before we went on one this Summer... we saw EXACTLY what he described: entering this creepy little village of less than 30 people devoid of anyone in sight, sheets flapping idly on a line, silhouettes looking at us as by drove by through their windows, a swing swinging back and forth like some kid had JUST been on it and a run down Church and little gas station. We went into the gas station and saw a few locals who galred at us like we were planning to corrupt their children with our lives of interacially homosexual marriages, black magic dentristy and deoderant... and everyone from Spuzzum looks exactly like anyone would think someone from Spuzzum looks like with only hearing the names. It's the same look a Bubba-Joe or Delilah-Sue conjures up.

The town is Comox.

Get a job/haircut/clue

I've had the same job for several years, have simply longer than a crew-cut hair, and don't need clues. Can't you tell it's two faces AND a vase? I didn't need a hint to figure it out.

I know it's decriminalized where you are at but that doesn't mean it is safe for work to be looking at marijuana. Just a thought, but everything else was pretty cool.

Weed's not decriminalized here and it never was. Cops just don't care if you're not smoking in a library or are dealing at an elementary school.

That's all very good, but do you pronounce it gla-see-er or glay-shur up there?

There's just something aboot saying gla-see-er that makes me think it'd sound like I'm a hoser. Glay-shur is better, and glaciers are cool, though they lack colour so when you maple syrup drips out of your ham and flapjack sandwich, you'll never get out the stain with just your serviette, and they're impractical for defence and are usually at least -10 degrees celcius. On the plus side though, my dogsled moves best on glaciers and not through the deep snow of Vancouver's city streets, the dangerous and predatory beavers and squawking goose-things don't live around them and the ice from them tend to make the best igloos. Eh?

... Regina.

I'm rather suprised I didn't get a barrage of "-2 Die!" for not formatting the image properly, and I just uploaded the image to rapidshare for my mom, and if you can wait the 45 seconds to start the download, you'll have it pretty quick... if care that much, which you probably don't...

http://rapidshare.com/files/158100663/ignorancetoarrogance.jpg.html

Please don't shatter my fragile, egg-shell ego and acknowledge me as valid as a person! Why should I get turned down by the toothless hooker who only charges the toothless amputee Korean War Vet Hobo who came here to dodge the draft in the Gulf War that smells like good cheese or two month old bologna left in the Sun $4.50 per tug job?!?!?! I just want to be loved... and called "Tough Lovin' Tyrone" while I try not to look at the mantlepiece as I stoke the fire...

Ever work on something for a few hours, only to have it not work as you'd like and unable to fix? Ever realized that the material cost of actually destroying the thing that can't feel how much you hate it is always equal to the immaterial satisfaction of outletting your immediate, seething rage that churns inside you? Computers are fucking expensive...

Just -2 this, I'll never care less about failing spectacularly at something I put some actual time into. tinypic and photobucket wont even display the fucking thing fullsize, or even close thereto.

And ty very very much
