What is your vote really worth if there is no one worthy of that vote?
For the first time, I don't want to vote for either candidate. Neither is the man for the job. America is in deep shit and what we need is someone equal to the task at hand. We NEED an exceptional president, not a mediocre one. We need a Jack Kennedy, a Harry Truman, a Roosevelt, a Nixon (yes, I've forgiven him for getting caught doing what everyone else has done and GW legalized).
Obama says he's "a man of the people". Just who might that be cause it sure as shit ain't me. He's been a devoted parishoner for 30 years of a church that hates white people....but he's not racist..I bet he doesn't inhale either...Yep, He's going to put us back to work...in a cotton field.
McCain is going to "fix" everything by levying yet more taxes on the middle class and taking more money from the elderly and disabled. Our healthcare system, or lack therof, is a mess and his answer is to tax what little medical benefits we do get, thereby raising the already skyrocketing cost of medical care, what little there is, even more. He's a military man and he has no intention of ending this war either.
Our current president has ruined America's global integrity. Other countries used to be proud to be our allies but now Tony Blair lost his position as the English felt he was "too friendly" with GWB. He stole the presidency(hey, lets have another recount!), destroyed our economy (what more can you expect from someone who was the owner of a failed oil company..how can an oil company fail????), failed to do anything significant about 9/11 except to ensure that all of Osama's relatives were gotten out of the country PRONTO and start a war which rivals Vietnam in its hopelessness and waste of money and lives and has failed to respond to any of the pressing global ecological issues except to make it a priority to try and run another pipeline through Alaska (hence the war in Afghanistan and the "election" of a "new" Afghani president..one who's first offical act was to sign the documents to allow this to happen, and on and on and on...
It's the 21st century, today someone purchased a diamond encrusted skull for 100 million dollars and there are thousands of American children that are starving, homeless and will die from lack of medical care. American's that are willing and able to work cannot find jobs, or if they can, the jobs don't pay enough for them to afford the basics...such as rent, heat and food. Americans are being forced to decide whether to eat or heat their home. Most are two paychecks away from being homeless. Retirees are being told that the money they contributed for 40 years to the Social Security System is gone..replaced by IOUs from presidents Regan, Clinton and Bush (both of them) and that their 401K plans have lost all of their savings in failed investments.
Make your vote count by refusing to vote until the parties put forth candidates that are worthy of your vote, don't just throw it away on the lesser of two evils. MAKE them come up with a president that will rise to the occasion and make the changes that are so desperately needed. Our country needs a hero not a zero.
