This is going to be a friendly game, so invoking Henton's Reprieve is only allowed after a bid greater than 20.

As a reminder - The Finchley Progression is only effective North to South, otherwise a Butler Surprise can no longer be called after the Yuengstown Dilemma.

I'll open with Deer Park.

You're not even in the car park yet. Honestly, you're really embarrassing yourself.
Sit down, pipe down, have some Kia-Ora. It'll all be okay.

The only school boy error I made was not fucking my teacher.

She was hot as hell.

I'll use my stolen bus pass and move on to Russell Square. 50 down, and Charlotte's Mantra is in play for the next 3 turns.

Damnit Joey, you've left me no choice.

I'm placing a conditional bid of 400 and playing the queen's shoes, which, you'll remember, when played at the soonest opportunity after a player's playing of the Edinburgh shunt, renders all other shunts obsolete, also granting me a movement bonus of four, placing me at Elephant and Castle.

---------------

I haven't seen such a bold use of the Queen's shoes since Brammel played Austin in '73. I'll pass on your generous bid, as such a move would leave me exposed on my North Western stronghold, although I'll notion Brannigan's push on the Jubilee line and press onward to Kew.

I wish to avoid the amateurish moves thus far undertaken, and play an Edinburgh Shunt.

------------

At long last, we have a seasoned player who knows what the score is. I'm guessing your destination is Hendon, or very possibly Edgware where it would be possible to pull off a Monk's Melee and drop Henry's Haymaker into the action.

Good stuff.

However, I'm taking this opportunity to lay down Earl Quint's Embargo from Amersham to Pinner, with a cumulative bid of 50 a piece, effectively closing off the North-West spur.

Not to mention concubine.

It is henceforth returned to the people of London.

Now, that I no longer have any stake in this game, I can't help but notice there is now Grand Arbiter nor Chancellor of Laws and By-laws.

I will hence forth fulfill both of these offices and all disputes shall be brought to me where they will be fairly and quickly resolved.

------------

Unless someone had played an anti-terrorist card, then the London Bombing Clause is still in effect. Fenchurch just isn't an option.

This 'win' is shameless flouting of the rules.

On this basis, I'll re-mortgage London Bridge, take a shank on the observatory and move all forces to King's Cross.

That puts me 50 up on St Pancras, and Slethin's Charter gives me full rights over Russel Square.

This is still on, bitches.

That would have let the swamp monkey go crazy on High Hill Plaza leaving it open for a raiding of greed which, of course, is almost like a black hole for players with bids on the board.

I WOULD HAVE JUST NEEDED TO HIT THE HIGH PLANES AND SPIN THE DARK TOP AND IF I HIT 9 ONLY 1 TIME I WOULD HAVE LANDED MORNINGTON CRESCENT IN 2 TURNS!

Well somebody's not up on current events. There's a fee of 45 for leaving Benton Park after two or more players have become insolvent. The fee was tacked on as a rider to the Shanksbury Bailout Accord of 2008. I know it hasn't yet gained widespread approval yet, but it does apply in this situation. I, for one, welcome the new changes given that high level Mornington Cresent games are being increasingly driven by market speculation.

Anyway, I've sat out my required turn and now I'll board the Northern at London Bridge.

Henton's Reprieve without first playing a twelfth Whist brings the Morlock Horde's.
This close to the Nazareen's Birth, that means Grinch Newton is in effect - as cited by Helmsley in his "Theoretical Plays On A Mid-Game Board." You'll remember that the introduction to this treatise stated these were 'theoretical' plays as the evil disregard for life required to implement them was outside of his imagining.

I do beleive all perambulators are now predatory. All omnibus's are stalled under the Kaplan Gambit and the tube is entirely choked with the viscera of a million dead holiday-makers.

You do realize that Himmler's hand is only good as a safeguard when Dollis Hill has been fenced, right?

I left it unfenced strictly for this reason, sacrificing the 15% bid increase that comes with it. Tower Bridge is useless to me, and your black hole placement is just out of reach of the old Hunterman Peppermill.

that edict is out of date and has been put into the errata because of the obvious transposition of the adjective in the fourth word of the edict. Which claims that "tho can not squatterly state a squat without the proper bid."

Squatterly is obviously not a word and one that was made up to suit Geoge Billowtop 3rd because of his obsessive charlatanism. Also, the rules in 1.2 are vague on what is an allowable bid and what is not.

Everything is in play for a Trilateral Blitzkrieg!

I bid 90 on Dollis Hill. All lines connecting to Oliver Orton's Hodgepodge of Fantastication are halted for three turns under the Pennington vs. Nguyen Clause of '64.

It's only a matter of time, suckas.

I'm invoking the Pennygrove treatise, specifically paragraph (3)(B)(x)(1221) "Denton's Gambit".

I'm moving forward to Kinglam Grove and marking Yorkshite Bridge. I believe that puts me up 20 and gives you a 'Butler Benny' to deal with at the beginning of your turn.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Pennygrove treatise is garbage. I really think it should be outlawed because for starters, it makes the Bayfield Express inaccessible and really makes things difficult for anybody trying to cross off the 17th Action. Obviously the game gets more difficult from there, and pretty much guarantees eventual victory to one player or another once the Incompetent Spy shows up. Hardly fair.

But hey, if that's how you want to play...

I invoke Charter 3 on your Dublin Shipyard. Enjoy cleaning up all that oil.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good play. I'd like to point out that you left your Oxford Knoll wide open for a wicked Gilgamesh. Does anybody have a 'Lamdon Broiler' that I can barter for? I have a spare Odenburgh Lane that I'm not using.

---

I believe that Matt made it quite clear at the start that the Finchley Progession was active on North-South lines. As your 'Benny' is considered a surprise Butler, it is invalid as there hasn't yet been a Yeungstown Dilemma. Don't even think about trying to weasel out of this by using the Thurgood-Hamilton conversion algorithm to recalculate your 20.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't try to pull a Spliff Whistler on me. Everybody knows that the Yeungstown Dilemma is only applicable in a Shanty Bottom play- this game has obviously been played as a Daltonbourough Tally round. If anything the 'Benny' was a giveaway as a $150 fine was all that was required to move on. I could have moved the Scally Roundabout into Edin Square, but I didn't because I was hoping to avoid the Pikers Mutiny of 1654.

If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break,
If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break,
When The Levee Breaks I'll have no place to stay.

Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan,
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.

Don't it make you feel bad
When you're tryin' to find your way home,
You don't know which way to go?
If you're goin' down South
They go no work to do,
If you don't know about Chicago.

Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
Now, cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move.

All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
Thinkin' about me baby and my happy home.
Going, going to Chicago... Going to Chicago... Sorry but I can't take you...
Going down... going down now... going down....
