The Solar Observation Satellite has been experiencing difficulties since having it's attention focused on the Nibiru ice comet. Nasa scientists have speculated that the refracted light from the sun dazzled its sensitive lenses. The SOS has been reporting massive dark spots on our star, much too large to be an accurate reading. Nasa plans to have secondary lenses in operation within the month.

Jason had followed tradition. He spent most of the day celebrating the diggers. Three had been lost to a collapse, but their mission had been considered a great success.
He left as soon as was acceptable, toasting the diggers bravery with a fiery liquor brewed for the occasion.
The seer would return tonight or the next day, if he returned at all, and Jason wanted his wits at their sharpest when the elders called him. He thought of visiting Aurons parents, but they would also be involved in the revelry that the Change caused. Instead, he decided to visit his ancestors home, now just a flat slab of concrete near the edge of the sky. He tried to imagine the world as his ancestors had seen it, a world free, nations living and dying, by peace and sword, but with the true sky there only as a backdrop, not a threat.

Nasa is confirming that sunspot activity has increased since the destruction of the Nibiru comet. It has not been determined if the demolition of the comet and sunspot activity are related, but many technicians have noted that the fragments that were blown into an intersecting course with the sun seem to have a close correlation with many of the newly formed sunspots.
Based on this information the Joint Chiefs of Staff recommend that Project Eden be activated as soon as possible.

Project Eden is active. Miitary presence is active in all Eden sites. High altitude sights are expected to have an increased survival rate, provided that Power continues to be active. All sites are at 100% aside from the wolf creek dam, which has only 20% activity. Wolf creek is expected to freeze within three days of turbine failure.

The last time I crossed Wolf Creek Dam, it was having Band-Aids applied to the places that were leaking.
