Through my mental masturbation on the Internet today, I happened across a clip of "The View"....
Just to be clear, NO I did not voluntarily click in to watch a clip from "The View", truth be told I wanted to see that chick on American Idol in the bikini and it lead in to the clip in question.
That being said, I want to pose the question, why has this show become such a platform for politics?
Let's get a couple things straight here first off, because I am certain that some of my views will be attacked in some femiNAZI fashion.... I think that EVERYONE has a right to voice their opinion. Not every is entitled to having their opinions addressed or enforced, because frankly, there are some stupid fucking ideas out there (from both men and women), nonetheless you have the right to speak up; the first amendment gives all that right. Keep in mind, the right to say something, does NOT what you have to say relevant.
My problem with "The View" is that it is inherently SEXIST.... the concept in and of itself is a platform contrived only women offering up the woman's perspective on the world and all things pertaining to. (as if the show's title wasn't indicative enough of that fact) Now call me crazy, but I find this method of niche media to be ridiculously biased in nature. I mean regardless of whether or not you find relevance in the opinions expressed on "The View" the entire concept of a show predicated on the woman's perspective and interpretation lends itself to actually FUELING sexual bias...
Why?
Ok first off delineating a platform "by women, for women" establishes right off the bat that a woman(or at least the collection of women on "The View") believes that they can not meaningfully express a well thought-out, justifiable ideology on any topic outside of the protected environment of only other women. It lends to the idea that a woman's opinion or viewpoint only has relevance to other women.
The show has caught some flack for some asinine things that have been said by some of he show's participants. Thusly, the entire show is judged and generalized as a whole rather than the person making the statement as an individual, such as they would be perceived if the same ridiculous statements were made on CNN, Fox News, or in a written article. If you present something as a collective, you will be viewed as a COLLECTIVE, not as an individual.
Why is it these view points can't be presented in a non-biased, non delineated environment? Why do these women need a whole show to stand up and voice their opinions? Do they feel they will not be taken seriously? Because to me, the fact that they feel they NEED the show, just to be taken seriously, and feel heard, conjures the image of a child throwing a fit to have their way; making a scene to create a spectacle for the attention; a special protected environment where they HAVE to be paid attention to.
WHAT COULD BE MORE SEXIST?
It is no better than Affirmative Action. An environment where you are lifted up on to a pedestal so to be heard is as bad as being discriminated against.
To single one person out, is the CORE of any type of bias. This is regardless of whether or not you are being singled out for a bad reason OR a good reason.
The funny thing is that the Mainstream Political Complex has now incorporated "The View" as a mainstay for reaching out to the liberal female. During the election I remember hearing a sound byte about one of the candidates (couldn't tell you which one; McCain or Obama) that had appeared on "The View" . The recap of the show was coupled with the statement "All the candidates of course have to make their appearance on "The View"
Why exactly do they have to? Is that the ONLY way to reach some of these women voters? Cause if "The View" is the only source for political perspective that some liberal women tune in to... I would have to say that their knowledge and insight in to the world and the United states is SADLY deficient.
I find it IRONIC that "The View" was incepted under the pretense of amplifying a woman's voice to the point of relevance and equality, and yet it is subtly reinforcing a woman's inferiority through the implication that a woman views their opinions as only relevant to woman; that their self image is in and of itself insignificant; that their opinion only carries weight in a biased environment.
I think that we as a species, need to quit trying to force the ideology that the sexes are equal because we aren't science proves that. You feminists out there can stand up and shout, and voice your disdain for the male established society that you thrive in, all the while support that fact that deep down, you know you're wrong. And shows like "The View" and all it stands for are evidence of that.
And now a picture that I am sure will enrage every woman that see's it.

Okay, first off I love that show and yes she IS hot but who cares. Women become activists because of guys like you, reposting some other assholes disturbing comic. What good are men for? Women have a lot more to offer with intelligence and their body; those are obvious and known to most men. I see why you post your argument here though. Nobody would listen to you in person.

I'd like a little clarification on this. Are you trying to say that women aren't mentally equal with men? If you are, then I'm afraid that I can't agree with you. Some women on this site prove you wrong on a daily basis. (ForensicGirl springs to mind)
I believe that you need to be a little more specific. Stunned cunts like Sage probably enjoy The View for all the reasons you stated- it dumbs down the world for their very simple minds. However, it's not fair the make broad statements for women in general. That's sexism of the very kind that you are up in arms about. "Isms" have no place in modern society.

What you expected a political commentary post to be a rousing and exciting story.....
Why don't you pay attention to the genre labels on the main page and maybe you will only end up looking at MSpaint altered pictures of Penises...
Political viewpoints aren't usually exciting reads.
