As you can see human bites have stayed pretty steady, although if you consider the fact that the population is going up the per capita human bites human occurences are going down, whila animal bites are steadily going down. Good proof of this is the fact that there was a lion bite in 1981, but there hasn't been one since, obviously there would be information of it if it did happen. The ferrets are our enemy though, the number of ferret bites has gone up by 40% from 1985 to 1987!!! So I encourage all of you New Yorkers, in fact anyone because this is bigger than just these statistics, to fix this problem - bite your neighbors, bite your family, freinds, whoever crosses you path, because the last thing we want is for them to win.
