I'm currently between jobs and living in a small town where I grew up.

It's peaceful, just like I expected it would be, being jobless but the bills aren't going away and I am getting stressed cause job leads are falling through. The main problem, I think, is that I worked in a bank as a nobody then quit that to follow a career in roughnecking. With the cut in Alt Energy Funding the company started to suffer and the big shots were worried about year end bonuses so they gave most of us workers the chop. I had a friend pulling in 2k a week doing Wind Turbines so I applied there, he had the hook-up with the head of HR but his company felt the same hit last week and had a major lay-off including him. So now he and I are hitting the road next week to head to Atlanta, GA to do some HVA/C work with a mutual friend.

So today I was going though some older Uber Post from the real legends and came across this old gem, thought to myself "Self, you could re-do this... maybe it will be worth a damn. At least get the coveted -2 from Shlongy himself and call it a day" so here goes.

For personal reasons I have given up drinking, so my days have been less exciting but more productive and/or healthy and peaceful. I would think that all the down time I would work around the house and finish up little projects here and there but the real-market is down so I have been un-inspired there. I do spend a lot of time in the woods/hunting in the West Texas plains/ and on the Harley when the weather permits.

My day runs pretty much like this:

8am: Wake up and make breakfast the start of a long day, if I have my baby... If not then

Noon: Wake up. Shower if I stink or have plans, no plans then I head to my parents since I don't keep a TV or computer in my house. All I use a television for is news which is too depressing to watch and the computer would occupy too much time if I had it around too much.

1pm: If the weather is nice then I go for a ride, If it is below 50 or too windy I opt to play with my dog or go on a walkabout in the woods.

3pm: I am halfway through my ride or thinking about dinner. I cook a lot and have freezers full of deer and pig at my parents so I make use of the free meat. While I cook/eat I look around the house at all the shit I could be fixing and decide that I'll do it the next day.

5pm: I am getting home from my bike ride or done with cleaning up from dinner. If I have my daughter we eat three meals a day... If I am alone then usually I have one good meal and maybe a Chimi from Alsups late at night.

6pm: I drive down to the lake near my house, near the boat slip there are some deer that I have been watching for the past few weeks. I like to sit in the jeep and observe... fuck you, it's peaceful.

7pm: It's dark so I hit the dirt roads to see any pigs/bobcats/turkey/whatever might be out and about. There are a lot of Russian Hogs around so they are easy enough find just about any given night. I have been taking my camera lately cause of an argument with a game warden, he says there are no jackrabbits in our area and I see them on the same road every night... Haven't been able to get a clear pic with one in the headlights as of yet though. On Tuesday and Thursday nights I go to the county jail and visit my friend between 7pm and 9pm, he will get out soon and I am waiting for that cause he is my riding buddy.

9pm: Sit on the porch with the dog, smoke a few cigs and pick on the guitar. Every once in a while I'll have a friend to pick and grin with. More often than not though it is just the dog.

11pm: Put in a DVD, usually the God Father... don't care which one... Sometimes I'll rent something, but as far as my collection goes there aren't many that I care to watch again and again.

1am: My room-mate/best friend gets home from work... He moved in to help with bills plus his mom moved and he needed somewhere to go, we climb in the jeep, head to Alsups then hit the back roads to waste some time... I don't drink anymore so there has been less and less reasons to drive the back roads lately though.

2/3am: Head to bed, tell myself that I am going to go apply for jobs in the morning but know it's bullshit.

After proof reading what I wrote I know this is boring as shit. Maybe something exciting will happen in Atlanta.

I don't know why you'd be headed toward Atlanta. The job market sucks here too.

I wouldn't mind... I stole this idea from HurtByTheSun, I guess I should have asked him the same thing. Uber seems a lot less hostile these days... Someone please give me the -2 die/fuck yourself/ eat a dick... please.

Boring? It was a fine break from my internet job search. I'd like to have some wildlife to observe late at night, but they don't want me in the park after dark.
