Unemployment rules until you run outta money and you don't have pennies to pay for the fuckin' internets. Well, instead of going out on vacation or drinking myself to death I decided to save every single settlement coin I earned until I find another job as an ESL teacher in my little country. Chile that is.
So music is the other thing I do as a hobbie. I've had bands, rehearsed to death, played live, recorded in a studio, etc. But I really really like the idea of writing songs more than performing them over and over again in an empty bar every single weekend. I've done like three or four albums which you can find here http://www.escepticorecords.com
It is a netlabel I started years ago. Not all of those bands are mine, they're all from Chile though and some of them are pretty good. My "band" is called RADIO PAJERA which means something like "jerk-off radio" sort of.
I wrote "band" because I started this thing myself and I've recorded everything by myself on my computer (except one EP, long story). Guitars, bass, drums (I love you Reason) and singing which I decided to eliminate, not because I don't like to sing, just because my voice is weak, softy, kinda nasally-girly toned not appropriate for the style I like... to the point I don't like to hear myself talk.
The style I like? Well, it's kinda hard-rocky-punk-indie-mathy or some crap. I'm bad at defining genres. I'm posting this song for an upcoming record that I've been working on for the past two months since I've been without a job. I like this song so trash/love it all you want. Thanks for stopping by.

Bookmarked.
I haven't heard very much new S. American styles of rock/metal, etc, but have been having penpals from Brazil send me lots of cd's with late 90's type rock, mostly whose names I can't recall right now.
I hope you don't suck.

I did not find this song particularly appealing.
Tone of the guitar in the beginning is thin and sounds like a fischer price toy. Melodic pattern uninteresting.
so:
Interpretation: 8/10
Composition: 3/10
arrangements: 6/10

Holy shit, it's actually good. Music-wise, that doesn't happen a whole lot when people just drop by and post links to their bands.
Good on ya.

Oh, and the gay beginning... I mean the title of the song is "Crossing the boundaries of perversity" that's all a joke to me, of course.

The bands you mentioned Kaos are amazing, thanks! Post rock is the idea I had floating around, taking it as a decent influence of course. I surprisingly enjoyed the last Mogwai album, I didn't care much for the older ones, I listened to Pelican a lot but I couldn't get into them. My only post-rock influence would be Godspeed you black emperor!
I record using Audition 1.5 and Reason 4.0 as software. I connect the pedals and the guitar to a shitty digitech RP50 pedal that gives some equalizing and reverb to the PC input channel. I must admit that the digitech is in bad bad shape, but it works. I've been recording like this for almost 4 or 5 years, and it doesn't sound professional at all, it just sounds "decent" I mean you can make out the instruments which is ok according to my standards. I'll check the links posted and try to get some updates on the myspace website with some newer tunes in a couple of weeks from now, I'll let you know. Cheers to all of you guys.

Good tune; reminds me of newer Pelican... although the lack of vocals may have helped that.
The dirty tracks, are you recording straight into the board?

Yeah I didn't like beginning, can't say why, just a bit ghey.
Once it's got into it it's pretty rockin'. Like some of little lead riffs.
Well done, keep not working!

chaffing against the mum-life; here she is trying to set up gigs and spread the word for little bands in far off lands. Tres inspiring.
Oooh, then she could be your groupie. You're looking forward to that, yeah? Yeah?
-----------------------------
that sounds mean, Shadow. Being a mum doesn't stop me from going to gigs and knowing the owners of two local venues. Music is my life, having kids doesn't stop that passion.
and ni, not a groupie you silly girl, I'd make them all tea and scones and bake a cake.
It was my pleasure, esceptico, good luck and keep us posted!!

Russian Circles, Saxon Shore, ect. are all considered newer Post-Rock bands like Sigur Ros and Mogwai.
I definitely pick up some Prog element in the guitar structure, too. Perhaps a fan of bands like Dream Theater and Rush?
I could easily see this with either a vocal track or even some vocal samples. What programs are you using? With something like GarageBand for Mac, you can take samples that you download off the net as WAV, convert them to MP3 in iTunes, then upload & place them accordingly. I did a whole album based around Judeo-Christian Mythology; using tracks as varied as Gregorian Chants, Amazing Grace, some Bluegrass and Jeff Buckley's "Hallejualah."
You should check out sites like LastFM.com, PureVolume, ReverbNation, and MP3.com to push this stuff. All of them have their pros & cons. MySpace Music is great, but very limiting. You can only upload what - 6 songs?

I'm so full of this emotion I understand to be "anger" I'm gonna go put it in a song. A metal song. With growling.
I need a new fucking job.
grats and good luck and all that.

Although I don't care for the opening, I really dug the rest of of it.
Reminds me a bit of stuff by bands like Russian Circles, Red Sparrowes & Saxon Shore...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've never heard of those bands before, but I'll definitely look for them rite about now.
Thanks for all your sweet comments. In fact I'm still working on the album and yes, it needs some improvement, in fact more than vocals I'm trying to get some soundscapes or recordings and arrangements that can replace the the lack of voices. Again, thanks for all the comments, critics and encouragement (orphelia!) to all of you. Peace.

What's with unemployed people being happy and doing what they want? I'm seriously considering posting some of the tracks I've recorded these past months.
Hey dude, put your post where your mouth is.
Ok that's a nice sound, but you got to add some vocals. I think it kinda needs to be there.

Can I listen to it more easily on the site?
