"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson
"If the Freedom of Speech is taken away - then dumb and silent we may be led - like sheep to the slaughter." -George Washington
A RESOLUTION affirming States' rights based on Jeffersonian principles.
New Hampshire is getting on the bandwagon and taking a stand against an intrusive, invasive, and downright despicable General Government that flaunts its power to change and re-interpret the Constitution of the United States of America at will.
In HCR 0006, New Hampshire declares in a nutshell that any acts taken by the General Government not authorized by the Constitution of the United States of America, shall be construed as seizing the rights of the states, and shall thereby require a change in the General Government.
The content of the bill is summed up below. It adheres STRICTLY to the 10th Amendment, which was intended to allow the states to protect their citizens from undue stress and harm from an overpowered, unregulated Federal Government.
_________________________________________________________________________
That any Act by the Congress of the United States, Executive Order of the President of the United States of America or Judicial Order by the Judicatories of the United States of America which assumes a power not delegated to the government of United States of America by the Constitution for the United States of America and which serves to diminish the liberty of the any of the several States or their citizens shall constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States of America by the government of the United States of America. Acts which would cause such a nullification include, but are not limited to:
I. Establishing martial law or a state of emergency within one of the States comprising the United States of America without the consent of the legislature of that State.
II. Requiring involuntary servitude, or governmental service other than a draft during a declared war, or pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.
III. Requiring involuntary servitude or governmental service of persons under the age of 18 other than pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.
IV. Surrendering any power delegated or not delegated to any corporation or foreign government.
V. Any act regarding religion; further limitations on freedom of political speech; or further limitations on freedom of the press.
VI. Further infringements on the right to keep and bear arms including prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition; and
That should any such act of Congress become law or Executive Order or Judicial Order be put into force, all powers previously delegated to the United States of America by the Constitution for the United States shall revert to the several States individually. Any future government of the United States of America shall require ratification of three quarters of the States seeking to form a government of the United States of America and shall not be binding upon any State not seeking to form such a government

This is sponsored by 4 Republicans. It's a load of pussy sour grapes.
If they were so worried about the Constitution, where the fuck where they when Bush used it as toilet paper over and over again during his presidency?

Here's some truly ETS-worthy paranoia:
The HSC 0006 Resolution in NH and similar ones many other Dem-controlled States is simply repeating what's in the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution. What if the Resolution is put up for a vote so that the governments in the States putting forth these Resolutions can then vote them down? This would pave the way to a motion to repeal the 10th Amendment and void State's Rights (with all that would entail) in favor of an all-powerful Fed.
Shepard Fairey (The guy who did Obama's 'HOPE' poster) had a previous project called 'OBEY' which was simply an black/transparent figure of a face with the word "OBEY" below it. He was recently featured in a USA Network 'Characters Welcome' commercial describing his work. Though he's done a lot of different projects, in the background of the commercial there were only two examples of his art. On the left of the screen were several 'OBEY' posters and on the right of the screen were several 'HOPE' posters. The message is clear.
I played the FL Lottery and Powerball in last night's drawing. I did not win either drawing. Clearly the games are rigged to keep poor people buying tickets so the masses don't save money, invest, and become less dependant on the government.
OK, that's my worries for the day. The lottery one was just for fun.

There are seven States with similar measures already drafted, and all of them were Blue States in the election. Twenty more States have such resolutions in the works.
The anti-socialist backlash appears to be taking a lot less time that even I'd expected.

Items 2,3 refer DIRECTLY to President Obama's intent to mandate involuntary service of persons 18-20 in a Federal Work Force, similar to JFK's peace corps.
Item 5 refers to the "Fairness Doctrine", forcing privately owned media outlets to give equal time to opposing opinions. How does this apply to AFN or Air America?
Please don't rely on my analysis.. read the full text of the bill yourself and take appropriate action.. Call your state representatives and tell them you support/denounce this bill.. Urge them to sponsor a bill in reply to this, as you see fit. Just get involved!
